Aaron Jones is an American football running back playing in the National Football League (NFL) for the Green Bay Packers. We all have to make certain tough choices in life and Jones had to make one himself in the course of his career.

Beyond his bio and career attainments, let’s take a look at his body stats, his brother, and family.

Aaron Jones Bio

Born in Savannah, Georgia on December 2, 1994, Aaron was born a twin. He came 30 minutes after his elder brother, Alvin. His full birth name is Aaron LaRae Jones, he was born to military parents and that meant a lot of relocation and travel. The family moved abroad to Germany and back home to Tennessee, Virginia and then El Paso. Jones attended Burges High School in El Paso playing for their football team. By the time he got out of high school, he was not the most sought athlete as he was only rated a two-star recruit.

Aaron Jones attended college at the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP). He played collegiate football for the UTEP Miners from 2013 to 2016. During his time with the Miners, he made history as one of the team’s best players. Aaron made his collegiate debut in a game against New Mexico, recording 11 carries for 127 yards and two rushing touchdowns. His debut season’s best performance came against the Rice Owls football team on October 26 when he recorded 186 rushing yards. By the end of the 2013 season, Jones had totaled 811 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns and 4 receptions for 14 yards playing in nine games.

He played three more games as a sophomore, making a strong impression in the season opener as he recorded a massive 237 rushing yards with 3 rushing touchdowns in a victory over New Mexico. By the end of the season, Jones had accumulated 1,321 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, 30 receptions, 293 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

Jones, in his third college season, suffered an ankle injury which restricted his playing time to only two games in which he recorded 209 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, 106 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown. The fourth season came and he played a total of 12 games.

As it happened, his final collegiate game was a win against North Texas, in the game, he recorded 301 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. His total stats for the season came in at 1,773 rushing yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, 233 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, a passing touchdown and 28 receptions. By the time he was set to move on from UTEP, he was dubbed the leading rusher in Texas Western/UTEP Miner history.

When the NFL came calling, Aaron Jones had a UTEP-record of 4,114 career rushing yards to his name. Jones got drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. A couple of injuries which his teammates suffered got Jones into a game with the Chicago Bears. In the game, he recorded 13 carries for 49 yards and scored his first career rushing touchdown. By the end of his debut season in NFL, he could boast of 448 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 22 receiving yards and nine receptions.

His Brother and Family

For Jones, it is a huge and unacceptable error to omit his family while telling his story. The running back has always stressed that his family played a huge role in the man he has become and in molding his career.

Jones had to leave his fraternal twin brother, Alvin when he entered for the 2017 NFL Draft. Aaron and Alvin had always played on the same team since they were four years old. They played together at Burges High School and then also for the Miners.

When Aaron opted to join the NFL Draft, Alvin decided to stay and see out his senior season at UTEP. Based on what Aaron once disclosed, the decision to leave his brother behind was a tough call. But then, Alvin understood it was his bro’s time; so he encouraged him to take up the challenge of playing in the NFL as it had been his dream all along.
