Angie Bautista is one of the ex-wives of one of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champions who goes by the stage name Batista. Angie is a cancer survivor and during her battle with the deadly disease, Bautista put together a video with the help of his friend Jimmy Noonan who had some experience in the film industry in order to raise money for her treatment. Angie, although camera shy, was excited to be part of the production as the aim also included raising awareness for ovarian cancer.

Angie Lewis Bautista was born in the United States of America. Angie is a fitness enthusiast which was how she came to meet Dave Bautista. They got married on October 13th in 1998 and the marriage lasted for 8 years, ending in divorce in 2006. Not much is known about Angie and her family before her marriage to Bautista. Even during and after her marriage to him, she still remains a private person.

She is a cancer survivor

Angie got her official diagnosis on the 9th of September 2002. Prior to this time, she saw different signs and symptoms which she disregarded. She started seeing fresh bruises on her body without knowing how she got it. She also noticed that she couldn’t keep her food down and was always feeling weak.

Angie spoke to her practitioners at that time since she was getting ready for a bodybuilding competition. They initially thought the changes were due to the adjustment in her nutrition and fitness training. After about two and a half months and her condition continued to worsen, she had to go to the hospital for an extensive checkup.

A thorough blood test was carried out and a tumour was then discovered in her right ovary. Angie Bautista received treatment with Carboplatin and Taxol which has empowered her to fight the disease in her system. She has tried to maintain a positive attitude in the face of her challenges and has gone in and out of remission severally.

Her miracle baby

During the trying period when she was fighting for her life, something incredible happened to Angie. One of the times when she was in remission in 2017, she conceived through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Angie Bautista calls her baby Oliver Bautista her miracle baby. This is one of the things that has helped her maintain a positive attitude through her fight against cancer.

Despite being married to Dave Bautista, a former professional wrestler, mixed martial artist and actor, Angie Bautista has tried to stay out of the spotlight. However, when she was given the opportunity to do something important to raise funds in support of ovarian cancer awareness, she set aside her inhibitions and put herself out there by sharing her story.

Dave conceived an idea of a video project to help raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Project. He broached the idea with his friend (Jimmy Noonan) who was the former head of security WWE. Noonan decided to partner with him since he already had some experience in the film industry. The project took two years to put together and was dedicated to Angie in the end.

Angie Bautista was touched and surprised by the thought and gesture. She commented that she was proud of Dave and Noonan for putting the video together. She also asserts that women should feel empowered about ovarian cancer even if they get a positive or negative diagnosis. Getting the right education and listening to one’s instinct, especially when it comes to one’s body is very important.

After their heartbreaking divorce, Dave and Angie Bautista seem to have ironed out their differences and are now close friends. The ex-couple welcomed a baby together after their divorce. Dave has also been a constant source of support to Angie through her battle with cancer.
