Ante Rebic is also one of the burgeoning players to look out.

Career

He started his youth career playing for Vinjani and then Imotski from 2008 to 2010. Following a standout performance in Italy with Hajduk Split in 2010, he moved over to RNK Split where his senior career kickstarted. In his debut with his new team, Ante scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Dinamo Zagreb on May 20, 2011, during the 2010–11 Prva HNL. He then signed a three-year deal with the club in August 2011 and was set to impress in his spell there. Rebic scored 15 goals in 49 appearances between 2011 to 2012 seasons. He made such a mark in the football world attracting a number of clubs, including Fiorentina, Tottenham Hotspur, and Swansea City, before eventually settling for the Italian side, Fiorentina.

In August 2013, Ante Rebic signed a five-year contract with Serie A club, Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee. He scored his first Serie A goal on May 18, 2017, in 2–2 draw against Torino two minutes after replacing Manuel Pasqual. Most of his time with the club was spent on loan to other clubs; RB Leipzig (a season-long loan deal), Hellas Verona (though he was unable to help the club avoid relegation to Serie B in his nine appearances), and Eintracht Frankfurt which he joined on July 11, 2016 on a season-long loan initially.

His loan was extended for another year in August 2017 with an option to buy before finally joining them permanently in 2018 following key role in their DFB-Pokal victory on May 19, 2018. Getting hold of his star performances at the World Cup, many clubs including Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Napoli as well as Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for the young player.

International Career

He started donning his national jersey following his call-up on July 31, 2013. He debuted in a friendly away to Liechtenstein as a 63rd-minute substitute for Ivica Olić. Rebic earned the praise of his manager, Igor Štimac for scoring four minutes after the substitution in the 3–2 win. He was also voted Croatian Football Hope of the Year in 2013.

He played as a substitute in both games of the decisive World Cup play-off matches against Iceland in November 2013 after being called up by coach Niko Kovač (who he credits with being instrumental to his move to the current club where he is regarded as a star). His team secured their spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup by winning 2–0 on aggregate.

Though he was not capped for Croatia between June 2015 and November 2017, Ante Rebić was named in manager Zlatko Dalić’s final squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
