Brandin Cooks’ Bio, Age

Brandin Cooks born as Brandin Tawan Cooks shares the same birthday with all those born on September 25th, more precisely those born in the year 1993. His first cry as a baby was heard in Stockton, California and it was a delight to Andrea and Worth Cooks, his parents who welcomed their new bundle of joy into their family. Brandin has as his siblings Fred, Worth Jr. and Andre who are all boys. Sadly, by the time he was about 6 years old, he lost his father who didn’t recover from a heart attack in the year 1999. Life went on for the Cooks brothers nevertheless, as their mother raised them up.

He attended Lincoln High School in Stockton, California, where he reigned in his own time as one of the best kids playing the grid game with the Trojans. In his high school career, he recorded a total of 112 receptions for 1908 yards with 21 touchdowns. For his performance, Rivals.com ranked him as the 26th overall best wide receiver and 240th overall for his class in the entire country.

Straight out of high school, Brandin committed to the Oregon Beavers football team of Oregon State University for his college football career from 2011 through 2013. He made it into the starting lineup in his freshman season playing as both a wide receiver and a kick returner. Coming into his sophomore season, Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton formed one of the most formidable receiving duos in the Beavers history, having a combined 158 receptions, in 2,395 yards, with 16 touchdowns in the 2012 season alone.

In all, Brandin played a total of 38 games recording 3,272 receiving yards, 24 receiving touchdowns, rushing yards of 340 with 2 rushing touchdowns. On January 2nd, 2014, he announced his decision to forego his senior season of college and instead enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

NFL Career

In the very first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, as the 20th overall pick, the New Orleans Saints signed Brandin Cooks to a four-year contract worth $8.3 million on May 18, 2014. Coming into the professional league which is no child’s play, Cooks had no reason to put in a less than impressive performance and for this reason, he got off with a very good start in his debut pro game against the Atlanta Falcons even though his side eventually lost the match.

In the 2015 and 2016 season, the former Beavers game maker played beyond expectation as he led his team in all categories in the 2015 season, and had a 10.0-yard target in 2016 which was pegged 6th among the leagues wide receivers. In all, Brandin Cooks played a total of 42 games with the Saints from which he had 2,861 receiving yards, 20 receiving touchdowns, 121 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown.

The New England Patriots made a trade to own Brandin Cooks on March 10, 2017, taking the fifth option in his rookie contract. He played a total of 16 games with the Patriots recording 1,082 receiving yards with 7 touchdowns, and 40 rushing touchdowns before leaving the team.

Again, Cooks joined his third NFL team in a similar manner to how he had joined his second team. The Los Angeles Rams got into a trade with the Patriots in exchange for a choice pick in the drafts. Joining the Mob Squad team, Brandin Cooks signed a five-year contract with them which was worth $81 million with $20.5 million guaranteed.

Girlfriend

Love found our star footballer with Briannon Lepman, aka The Lady Archer. She is a Kinesiology graduate from Oregon State University where she met her beau. Like most relationships that happen at that level, the two were very much into each other and theirs even continued after college. It even became stronger in the next few years as Brandin began playing as a pro in the NFL.

Cooks proposed to her in June 2017 during his offseason vacation in the Hawaiian island of Maui. Her response was exactly what many other ladies would respond to their prince charming should they be put on the spot.

From what we gathered about Briannon Lepman, she is a devout Christian, an avid photographer with Cooks being her photography muse. Similarly, the belle runs a blog named “A Briutiful Life” where she basically share with her viewers how she goes through her diurnal life with the power of her camera lens. In addition to all these, she is a human mom to two canine members of their family.

Height, Weight

Brandin Cooks, the current Los Angeles Rams jersey number 12, playing the position of a wide receiver stands at a height of 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m) and weighs 183 lb (83 kg). His weight has only varied by 6.6 lbs (3 kg) dropping from 189 lb (86 kg) which he measured during his pre-draft. It assures us of one thing; the lad is putting lots of effort to keep his weight in check so he can be at the top of his game.
