The talented player was born Brandon Xavier Ingram in Kinston, Northern California in the United States on September 2, 1997, to a certain Mr. Donald and his wife Joann Ingram. He grew up alongside his two half-siblings attending Kinston High School where his basketball career took off in earnest. His brother Donovan, who grew up in another home in Kinston, had taught him how to play basketball, but his stint in high school saw him better sharpen his skills in readiness for bigger exploits.
Before his teenage years, Brandon had already played with his brother’s team which was made up of kids way older than he is, and even there, his performance was outstanding. This early exposition to the game made him master the rules of the game and to play well. In Kinston High School, he led the school to state championships in all the four years he spent there. He was rated as a five-star recruit and was among the best high school prospects in his class in 2015.
Soon after his high school graduation, he started his college basketball career with the Blue Devils basketball team of the Duke University. He made his first appearance for the Blue Devils in their two exhibition games against Florida Southern and Livingstone. At the end of his freshman year, Ingram averaged 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 17.3 points per game. Following his wonderful performance, he was crowned ACC Rookie of the Year and was named to the AP All-American Team; as well as All-ACC Second -team. After his freshman season, Ingram announced he would join the NBA draft; thereby forgoing the remaining three years of his college career.
NBA Career and Stats
Brandon Ingram was among the highly rated prospects of the 2016 NBA draft; he was projected to be among the top three picks and that was the case as he was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers as the 2nd overall player behind of Louisiana State University. After the draft, Ingram signed his rookie year deal on August 23, 2016, and made his first professional appearance for the Lakers in their game against Houston Rockets on October 16, 2016. He finished his rookie year with an average of 4.0 rebounds and 9.4 points per game. The youngster was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team that year.
Prior to the 2017/18 regular season, Brandon Ingram participated in the NBA Summer League where he made a remarkable impact by scoring 26 points in the first game. He continued making strides as the season went by and he also featured in the NBA All-Star Weekend. In March 2018, he suffered a groin injury which caused him to miss out of action in twelve games. Upon his return, he also sustained a neck muscle bruise which ruled him out for the rest of the season. He played a total of 59 games for the Lakers, averaging 5.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 16.1 points per game.

He shares the same father with Donovan while he also shares the same mother with Brittany. They all grew up together in Kinston, North Carolina. His father previously worked as a police officer as well as a local gym manager but is currently working at a forklift production plant.
His brother Donovan otherwise known as Bo also played college basketball with the University of Texas Mavericks. Having helped Ingram in the early days of his basketball career, Donovan also tried making it to the NBA G-League but was cut short even before he started. He has always been a great fan of his younger brother both in and out of court.
Just like his successful basketball career, Ingram also has an interesting love life. He was previously in a relationship with a lady named Tiffany. The lovebirds met at Kinston High School. They have loved and supported each other for several years until May 2016, when Tiffany broke up with the NBA star. Their break up happened just a few weeks before his NBA draft.
