Bio

Born on 18th March 1983 in Aurora, Colorado, U.S. Brendan’s mother Debra was British while his dad Peter Schaub was American. Brendan attended Overland High School where he started honing his skills in competitive sports. He actively played football. He moved to College at Whittier College and immediately became a member of the football team.

Brendan wasn’t long at the Whittier College before he moved to the University of Colorado where he went on to appear in 26 games. Brendan also had stints with the Utah Blaze and the practice squad for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.

Brendan’s UFC adventure began when he became friends with heavyweight contender Shane Carwin. They trained together and soon enough, he joined Ultimate Fighting Championship from the team, Rashad, defeating players like Demico Rogers, Jon Madsen, and Marcus Jones to reach the final which he lost by knock out to Roy Nelson.

In October 2010, he made his debut at UFC 121 in California against Gabriel Gonzaga, a former UFC heavyweight title challenger, and won the match, In March 2011, he faced Mirko Cro Cop and beat him through in the third-round KO following a well-placed counter-punch and a four-fight win streak.

Towards the twilight of his career, Brendan Schaub lost a few contests. Brendan fought UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski in June 2014 and lost. In December 2014, he also lost on Technical Knock Outs in the first round to Travis Browne. Six months after the defeat, Schaub announced that he would move down to the light heavyweight division. On October 12, 2015, he announced his retirement.

He dated American professional wrestler, actress, and former mixed martial artist . Due to various reasons, the relationship was doomed from the beginning. Rousey had a brief relationship with another UFC fighter Travis Browne who had knocked out Brendan in a fighting bout. There have been allegations of cheating between the pair even after the broke up.

Brendan Schaub is dating the beautiful American TV anchor and actress Joanna Zanella. They got engaged in 2017. Prior to their engagement, the couple welcomed their son Tiger Pax Schaub born on 21 February 2016. There have been rumors that the engagement has been called off but no official confirmations yet.
