Brenton Thwaites is a film and television actor of Australian origin. He first gained prominence in 2011 for his portrayal of the character Luke Gallagher on the teen drama series Slide. He equally had a recurring role on the 24th season of the soap opera Home and Away before moving to the United States in 2012.

The talented actor also has some notable film credits to his name including Blue Lagoon: The AwakeningOculusGods of Egypt as well as the 2017 box-office hit Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. In 2018, Brenton Thwaites headlined the web action series Titans which lasted for one season.

Brenton Thwaites’ Bio 

He was born on August 10, 1989, in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. His parents are Fiona and Peter Thwaites and he grew up alongside a sister named Stacey. He attended Cairns State High School in Far North Queensland and graduated in 2006.

Thwaites took interest in acting at a relatively late period of his life as he had originally aspired to become a policeman or a firefighter. He had his very first live performance as a 16-year old during a staging of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Having caught the acting bug, the youngster pursued a degree in acting at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). While still an undergrad, Thwaites marked his film debut in the 2010 indie film Charge Over You. He also featured on an episode of the series Sea Patrol and in the short film Headsmen (2010).

In November 2010, Brenton Thwaites was cast as Luke Gallagher on the Fox8 teen drama series Slide which aired for one season from August to October 2011. The talented actor relocated to Australia’s capital city of Sydney and there, he landed a recurring role as Stu Henderson on season 24 of the long-running soap opera Home and Away (2011–12).

Upon moving to the United States, Thwaites’ first job was a lead role in the made-for-TV film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening (2012) opposite . He also had a lead role as Tim Russell in the horror film Oculus (2013) which was a box office success. He appeared in the crime thriller Son of a Gun (2014) which was filmed in his native country of Australia. The year 2014 was definitely a busy one for the actor as he also featured in The Signal, The Giver and the box-office hit Maleficent. His performance in The Giver earned him the 2014 Australians in Film (AiF) Breakthrough Award.

Brenton Thwaites also had a role in the fantasy action film Gods Of Egypt (2016) as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He was the lead star of the horror comedy film Office Uprising (2018) and he headlined the shortlived web series Titans (2018).

Brenton Thwaites is currently unmarried. However, he is known to be in a relationship with Chloe Pacey, a visual artist. The duo met in early 2015 during the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in the actor’s home state of Queensland, Australia. According to Thwaites, Pacey was one of his housemates where he lodged when the filming was going on. Interestingly, the two went from being housemates to becoming soulmates and the rest is history. Thwaites and his girlfriend Chloe Pacey have remained together since 2015 and they welcomed their first child in March 2016, a daughter named Birdie Thwaites.
