Brian also boasts a hugely successful solo music career as a contemporary Christian Music artist. His debut solo album Welcome Home (2007) sold over 100,00 copies in the United States alone within its first year of release.

Brian Littrell continues to churn out new music and makes occasional TV appearances. In addition to being a father of one and a husband, Littrel gives back to the society via his non-profit organization, Healthy Heart Club. Here is more about his rise to musical greatness as well as facts about his personal life.

Brian Littrell Biography (Age)

Brian Thomas Littrell was born on February 20, 1975, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born to Harold Baker Littrell, Jr. and Jackie (née Fox). The crooner was born with a congenital heart defect and had to undergo an open heart surgery in 1998 to fix a hole in his heart.

Born into a Christian home, Brian’s health challenge only drew him closer to God and at the age of 8, he became a born-again Christian. His Christian values have come to shape his career over the years. The heart defect he suffered from was what led him to start Healthy Heart Club which is focused on providing financial, medical and practical assistance to kids with heart defects.

Atypical of kids raised in Christian homes, Brian joined his Porter Memorial Baptist Church choir as a kid and began exploring his vocal abilities. In addition to music, Brian also played basketball as a kid but was more drawn to his musical side. He was so passionate about his faith that he sought to attend Cincinnati Bible College on a full scholarship, to train as a music minister, however, destiny had other plans up her sleeves that would not interfere with his passion at the time.

During his junior year in high school, his Orlando-based cousin Kevin Richardson reached out to him and invited him to join a boy band he was setting up which would become the Backstreet Boys. With Lou Pearlman (who was later convicted of fraud) as their manager, the Backstreet Boys enjoyed an exponential rise in success first in Europe, Asia and then America.

The Backstreet Boys rose to worldwide recognition in the 90s, churning out records that were a favorite of many teenagers at the time. The band has, to date, sold over 100 million records worldwide and is not showing signs of slowing down. They released four albums between 2000 and 2013 and in 2018, after a five-year hiatus, returned with a hit single Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.

In 2006, Brian Littrell had the chance to pursue one of his lifelong dreams of releasing his own inspirational Christian songs. He has been very successful on the Christian album chart. Brian has won a couple of Gospel Musical Association (GMA) Dove Awards including Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year for “In Christ Alone.”

His Net Worth

According to credible sources, Brian Littrell’s net worth is estimated at $45 million. Littrell would have probably been worth more had his band’s long-time manager Pearlman not laundered a substantial amount of money that they made. However, he did get his just deserts which led to his 2016 death in federal custody where he was serving a 25-year prison sentence given to him in 2008. The bulk of Brian’s wealth no doubt stems from his record sales with the Backstreet Boys.

Brian’s Wife and Son

Brian Littrell was the second BSB member to get married and the first to become a dad. He met his wife – model and actress Leighanne Wallace in 1997 during the video shoot for their video “As Long as You Love Me”. On Christmas Eve of 1999, they became engaged and got married on September 2nd, 2000.

Like her husband, Leighanne is an evangelical Christian. Their long-lasting union has been something of a breath of fresh air in an industry awash with divorce drama. Leighanne was born on July 20, 1969, in Marietta, Georgia. Some of her film credits include My Fellow Americans (1996), Olive Juice (2001) and Wild America (1997). The couple shares a son together named Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell. He was born on November 26, 2002, and in 2008, he was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, an inflammation of the blood vessel which he overcame. An aspiring actor, Brian’s son appeared in the Broadway musical Disaster! in 2018.

Height

Brian Littrell’s relatively short height compared to every other BSB member stirred curiosity about just how tall he was. He stands at 5 feet 7 inches which is 1.73m. In comparison to other BSB members, his cousin Kevin is the tallest at 1.85m followed by Nick Carter who stands at 1.83m and then AJ and Howie both at 1.75m. As a teen in high school, Brian had aspired to become a pro basketball player but his height was a limiting factor.
