Brock Osweiler Biography – Age

Brock Alan Osweiler was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on November 22, 1990, and raised by his parents, Kathy and John Osweiler, in Kalispell, Montana. His older brother, Tanner also played college football in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) at Montana Tech in Butte. Brock had interests in both basketball and football. He thrived on both and even played for Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball teams at some point. In 2006, he committed to being a basketballer for Gonzaga University in Spokane but as fate would have it, he ended up playing college football.

His professional career in football took off once he began to attend Arizona State University. Brock Osweiler became the first true freshman to start a game for the Sun Devils since Jake Plummer in 1993. He played in six games with one start in 2009 and 2010.

Due to his great performance, Osweiler was rated the sixth best quarterback in the 2012 NFL Draft and among the 57th overall pick in the second round of that season’s selection by the Denver Broncos. In 2013, Osweiler was switched from playing quarterback and stationed into the line. As the tallest member of the team at 2.10m, it was an attempt to obstruct the New England Patriots game-winning field-goal.

The 2014 season saw Osweiler threw his first career touchdown against the Raiders, precisely on December 28. His team won in Week 7 and Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers and the San Diego Chargers respectively. He ended the season with 170 completions out of 275 attempts (61.8%) for 1,967 yards; 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while having an 86.4 quarterback rating.

On March 9, 2016, He signed a 4 years deal worth $72 million ($37 million guaranteed) to play for the Houston Texans. However, in what was regarded as the most creative in NFL history, Osweiler was traded to the Cleveland Browns along with the Texans’ 2017 sixth-round pick and 2018 second-round pick in exchange for the Browns’ 2017 fourth-round compensatory pick.

After he was released by the Browns, Brock Osweiler signed a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos on September 2, 2017, to cover up for backup quarterback Paxton Lynch who sustained a shoulder injury.
