Carlos Correa was not only the youngest player to make the 2012 Major League Baseball draft, but he was also selected as the first overall pick by the Houston Astros. He went on to make his debut in 2015 and since then, he has remained an important part of the team, emerging the Rookie of the Year in his first season and later winning the World Series in 2017. Carlos Correa Biography and Age
It was as Carlos Javier Correa Oppenheimer that the MLB star was born on September 22, 1994, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Inasmuch as his parents, Carlos Sr. and Sandybel Oppenheimer were not very well to do, his childhood in the village of Barrio Velázquez was not that of abject poverty.
Since he was only a little kid, Carlos started playing and a neighbor suggested that he be sent to a youth league when he was just 5. His father took to training him every day even after the family lost its house following the Hurricane Georges of 1998 which destroyed the family house and he was forced by the situation to take some odd jobs.
Soon, he would find himself playing in the American Amateur Baseball Congress and then Rio Grande who picked him to play for them in the championship series which then held in Atlanta. At that point, his family was too poor to finance his trip to the municipality of Rio Grande and so the community and his former team contributed for him to be traveling for training. At the tournament, Correa was named the Most Valuable Player.
Professional Career and MLB
He got a scholarship to study at the Raham Baptist Academy and later, he got another scholarship with the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School.
In 2012, he entered the MLB draft as the youngest high-profile player and was selected by the Houston Astros with the overall first pick, making him the highest-selected player from a Puerto Rican high school to be so drafted. From that point, he was sent to the minor league until 2015 when he got promoted to the major league.
He debuted in a game against Chicago White Sox which Houston would go on to lose by 3-1. From then on, he would go on to set a lot of records in the league including becoming the first Astro to land the Rookie of the Year award since 1991 which was won by Jeff Bagwell.
In 2017, he was invited to play at the World Baseball Classic for the Puerto Rico national baseball team. The team ended as runner-up after it lost to the United States in the final.
Through his years of playing, Carlos has made some accomplishments apart from the World Series championship that he won in 2017. In the same season, he made the World Baseball Classic All-Tournament Team as well as the All-Star. In 2016, he was awarded the Premios Juventud (Youth Awards) which was created for Spanish-speaking celebrities who have achieved something of significance in film, music, sports, fashion, and pop culture.

As indicated above, Correa was brought up in a poor family. He was raised alongside a sister, Leibysand Correa, and a brother, Jean Carlos Correa who also plays baseball.
Even though Carlos Correa is yet to get married, he is in a relationship with Daniella Rodriguez. While it is not certain when they first met or for how long the two have been dating, there are some reports that claim they met in 2016. They were first seen in public together in October 2016.
Since then, they became an item and after the Houston’s first World Series victory in November 2017, Correa engaged Rodriguez. Daniella Rodriguez is a beauty queen who became the Miss Texas Teen USA in 2013 and in 2016, she was crowned Miss Texas USA.
