Catherine Keener is an American actress most notable for her work in Being John Malkovich (1999) where she played the character of Maxine Lund, the love interest of her co-worker Craig Schwartz (played by John Cusack) who she, however, did not return his affection for her. The actress’ full name is Catherine Ann Keener and she was born on the 23rd of March 1959 in Miami, Florida. Catherine was born into a family of 5 children as the 3rd child. Her parents are Evelyn (née Jamiel) and Jim Keener. She is of Irish descent from her father’s side and Lebanese from her mother’s side.

Catherine was raised alongside her siblings as a Roman Catholic faithful in Hialeah, a city in Florida where she also attended Monsignor Edward Pace High School, in Miami Gardens, Florida. After her high school studies, Ann enrolled at Wheaton College, in Norton, Massachusetts where she majored in American Studies and as well enrolled in a theatre program. As a junior in college, she had her first theatrical performance in Uncommon Women and Others, a Wendy Wasserstein production. Catherine Keener later graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Catherine played as a waitress in the episode: “The House of the Rising Flan” of L.A. Law.
