But despite the level of success attained in high school or college, not many tend to end up living their dream. Chris Forester was one of such people who had a decent college football career but was not deemed good enough to make it to the NFL. He, however, did not let his dream die as he chose to take the coaching route. Read on to find out about his journey as well as other facts about his life.

Chris Forester Bio

Chris Forester was born and named Christopher Flyn Forester as one of two children born to Lucinda and Richard Deveraux Foerster, on the 12th of October 1961 in the United States. His father is a United States Navy Veteran who served in World War II while his only sibling is a sister named Carla Hass.

Details about Forester’s childhood is not known. It is not clear where he received his early and high school education and even what city he grew up in. The only available information on his educational background is that he attended Colorado State University. According to reports, Forester originally joined Colorado’s Rams football team as a walk-on before earning himself a scholarship in his sophomore year. He went on to have a decent college football career playing as a center before graduating in 1982.

Following the completion of his studies, Chris Forester decided to go into coaching, taking up the position of graduate assistant at his alma mater. His work title was later changed to offensive line coach in the following year, a position he held until 1987 when he left to join Stanford as assistant offensive line/special teams coach. Forester’s time in Stanford lasted from 1988 to 1991 when he joined the University of Minnesota as the offensive line coach.

After just a year with Minnesota, Forester’s career took a huge turn for the good as he moved up to the big leagues, getting appointed as the assistant offensive line/tight ends coach of the National Football league side, the Minnesota Vikings. He held the position from 1993 to 1995 when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as offensive line coach. In 2002, Forester found himself on the move again, this time to Indianapolis where he joined the Colts as tight ends coach. After a year, in 2004, he joined the Miami Dolphins as offensive coordinator before switching to the Baltimore Ravens in 2005 to become the outfit’s offensive line coach. Other teams in which he has gone ahead to serve as their offensive line coach include the San Francisco 49ers (2008-2009, 2015), the Washington Redskins (2010-2014), and the Miami Dolphins (2016-2017).

Salary

Chris Forester was noted to be one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the NFL with a salary estimated to be in the region of $2.5 million and $3 million per year. But despite his decent earnings, Forester has found himself to be owing the IRS. The revenue service is said to have filed two unpaid-tax liens against Forester; one for $591, 397.51 in unpaid taxes going back to 2012, and another for $67, 482 over taxes owed in 2010.

Family – Is He Married? Who Is His Wife?

There are conflicting reports in regards to Chris Forester’s marital status. While all available reports agree that he was once married to Michelle Massey, some reports state that the two divorced in 2004 while others indicate that they are not divorced but rather just separated, a move that could be as a result of his frequent moving around due to his job.

Chris Forester married Massey on June 29, 1985, in Maine. Together, the couple has three children; one daughter and two sons. Their first child, Kathleen Foerster, was born on the 9th of August, 1988. She is a graduate of Florida State with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Studies and Spanish and has since started a family of her own. The Forester’s second child is Jake Christopher Foerster, who was born on the 6th of December, 1991. Micah, whose date of birth is unknown, is the last of the three.

Michelle holds an Addiction Studies Certification from St. Petersburgh College and is also a registered nurse. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2015 from the University of Phoenix and has since gone ahead to find work at 5th Avenue Pediatrics in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Does He Have a Girlfriend?

On the 9th of October 2017, Chris Forester announced his resignation from his coaching job with the Miami Dolphins after a video surfaced of him snorting a white powder, thought to be cocaine, with a rolled up US dollar bill. The video was released by a woman identified as Kijuana Nige, who claimed to have been the coach’s girlfriend.

Forester has since remained tight-lipped on whether he and Nige were ever romantically involved as he checked himself to rehab and apologized to his employers and family.
