Nathaniel and Peggy Prescott gave birth to Rayne Dakota “Dak” Prescott on July 29, 1993, as a younger sibling to Tad and Jace (brothers), and Natalie Prescott-Smith (sister) including Elliott Prescott his half-brother from his father’s first marriage.
He grew up as a student of Haughton High School in Haughton, Louisiana, where he began playing football for the Buccaneers. By his senior year, Dak led his team to emerge victorious as the 2010 District 1-AAAA Champions, while to his credit he remembers his high school football career with his 159-of-258 passes for 2,860 yards and 39 touchdowns.
Rayne entered the Mississippi State University in 2011 and joined the Mississippi State Bulldogs football program. He was redshirted in his freshman year for Tyler Russell but by 2012 he played a total of 12 games recording 8-of-29 passes for 194 yards with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. Coming into 2013, the number of games he played dropped to 11 for which he recorded 156-of-267 passes for 1,940 yards with 10 touchdowns and 7 clean interceptions. With a 44–7 win over the Rice Owls in the 2013 Liberty Bowl, Dak Prescott was named the MVP of the bowl. By his 2014 season, he was already blazing, breaking records and setting up new ones some of which stand till today. He recorded 14 rushing touchdowns in the season, a single-season passing yards of 3,449, 41 total touchdowns, 27 passing touchdowns, 4,435 total yards of total offense.
Dak Prescott got named the Manning Award Player of the Week for five times, 2014 SEC Offensive Player of the Week for three times, 2014 Honorable Mention All-American by SI.com and was also on the 2014 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll among many others. Following an impressive 2015 for which he finished with 3,793 yards, 29 passing touchdowns, and 10 rushing touchdowns, with many national and school awards, Dak Prescott was totally set to begin his professional career in the NFL.
He got picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft in the fourth round (135th overall) of the draft as a backup to develop on the heels of . Following a preseason injury the veteran sustained, Dak worked his way into the starting lineup for the 2016 season.
He put up an impressive performance in his team’s first game of the season which however ended in a loss to the New York Giants. He completed his rookie season with 3,667 passing yards, 282 rushing yards, 29 total touchdowns, and only four interceptions with a 67.8 completion percentage for the 16 games he played. Some of the awards he won in this season include the Offensive Rookie of the Month – November, Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year winner, and NFL Rookie of the Year.
The former Haughton High School lad completed his 2017 season with 3,324 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 357 rushing yards, and 6 rushing touchdowns for all of the 16 games he was fielded for in the season. Family – Girlfriend and Parents
Prescott was born to Nathaniel and Peggy Prescott. His father is African American while his now late mother was European American. He lost his mum Peggy to colon cancer in November 2013 and wears the number 4 jersey in reverence of his late mum whose birthday was on September 4. The footballer also set up the Faith Fight Finish Foundation in her honor to help people who are in adversity.
Dak Prescott was first known to have dated Kayla Puzas beginning in 2014. Their relationship was heavily publicized to their fans going by the frequent social media posts (pictures) they put up on their respective social media accounts.
