Daniel’s father – Jay Berger was a former tennis pro who was so good he was ranked seventh in the world in 1990. He also worked as a coach, and head of men’s tennis for the United States Tennis Association. However, Daniel’s grandmother (paternal), Roslyn “Cookie” Swift Berger, made a name as an amateur golfer and was inducted into the Greater Buffalo, New York Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.

Daniel Berger’s Brief Biography
The American professional golfer was born on April 7, 1993, in Plantation, Florida. He comes from a Jewish family with parents – Nadia (mother) and Jay Berger (father) who used to play professional tennis.
Daniel’s childhood was mostly spent in Key Biscayne until his family moved after about ten years. It was at their new home in Jupiter, Florida that his interest in golf began to manifest. He started playing at the age of 11 or 12 and had his first hole-in-one when he was 13. However, Daniel didn’t play the game in high school until he graduated from William T. Dwyer High School in 2011 He, however, picked up his golf club at Florida State University in Tallahassee where he won both the SunTrust Gator Invitational and the Seminole Intercollegiate and led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with a 69.36 stroke average in the 2013 season. In his second year in the university, Daniel Berger tied for second at the 2013 NCAA Golf Championships and was named a two-time first-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Golfweek. At the end of his sophomore year, Berger turned professional golfer. He was 20 years old at the time.
His Professional Days As A Golfer
The golfer qualified for the Web.com Tour and played four events after turning pro in 2013. The next year, he earned a promotion to the PGA Tour for the 2014-2015 season as a result of his performance – he finished T2 at the TPC Stonebrae Championship, ranking 15th in the season-long Web.com Tour standings.
In 2015, Berger missed a chance to set a record after he shot a 6-under-par 64 in the final round of the Honda Classic to get into a sudden-death playoff but lost to Pádraig Harrington. Also, the 2015 season saw him make the cut in 17 of 31 events, had six top-10 finishes including two seconds. Besides, he was the only rookie to make the Tour Championship field in late September the same year. He wrapped things up with the 11th position in the FedEx Cup rankings, 25th on the money list – he earned more than $3 million and was the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year as well.
In the 2016 season at the FedEx St. Jude Classic near Memphis, Berger landed his first PGA Tour win. This secured him the 29th spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. His earnings were $1.1 million.
Berger successfully defended his FedEx St. Jude Classic title at the 2017 PGA Tour Season, thus, he moved to 24th in the world and later moved up to 20th in July.
