As the first child of renowned television doctor, , Daphne Oz has been a true representation of her father’s prowess in front of the camera. She was born on February 17, 1986, to Dr. Mehmet and Lisa Oz in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life was almost snuffed out of her by the umbilical cord that was wrapped around her neck at birth, in fact, she got an Apgar score of 2 which made her chances of survival even lower, but she scaled through and survived against all odds.

Daphne’s ancestry can be traced to Turkey where her grandparents emigrated from and Shapsug as well. Among her siblings are – Arabella, Zoe and Oliver. Her childhood was spent in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and it was there that she attended school at Dwight-Englewood School, graduating in 2004. She later got her first degree from Princeton University in 2008 where she majored in Near Eastern Studies.

Daphne Oz has earned respect in her career as an American nutrition author and television host. In her right as an author, she published her first book, The Dorm Room Diet in 2006. The book is based on her own personal tips on how to stay healthy and eat the right things as a student. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, People, The Washington Post, Teen Vogue, Cosmo Girl! as well as Seventeen are just a few of the media outlets which took the book closer to the public and made it’s author a favorite for readers. Fun. with her The Chew co-hosts. She is also the brain behind bestsellers like Relish: An Adventure in Food, Style, and Everyday Fun and has penned articles for Glamour, The Huffington Post and a lot more.

Her television career is mostly linked to her time on ABC’s The Chew. She joined the hosts on The Chew in September 2011 and on August 11, 2017, Daphne left the lifestyle show.

Why Did She Quit The Chew And Where Is She?

Ahead of the seventh season of The Chew, it was announced that Daphne Oz won’t be a part of the five hosts anymore. She spent six wonderful seasons as a co-host on the show, thus, her fans didn’t like it when she left as they had gotten used to her presence. She took to the social media to bid her fans farewell and though there was no formal statement about her reason for leaving, it seems her busy schedule as a wife, mother and author contributed to her exit from the show.

Aside from The Chew, she has been a guest co-host on The View, “Beat Bobby Flay” and has also made appearances on shows like  Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, The Dr. Oz Show, Dayside, and Good Day New York to discuss healthy living. She currently acts as a judge on Cooks vs. Cons, a competition show on the Food Network.

They followed the civil ceremony up with two religious ceremonies two days later at the Synaxis of Serbian Saints Church in Portland, Maine and another one at the summer home of her maternal grandparents in Cumberland Foreside, Maine.

Their union has been blessed with three kids – the first, Philomena “Philo” Bijou Jovanovic (daughter) was born on February 26, 2014, followed by a son, Jovan Jr. on October 21, 2015, and on December 4, 2017, another daughter, Domenica Celine Jovanovic joined the family.
