DeAngelo Chondon Williams was born on April 25, 1983, in Wynne, Arkansas. He attended Wynne High School in Wynne, Arkansas where his athletic skills immediately became apparent. Williams rapidly turned into a football star and also excelled in track and field.

In 2000, he was named among the Arkansas All-State team. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette named him their 2001 Offensive Player of the Year and also in the same year, Associated Press named him in the Arkansas Super Team. All of these recognitions and more made Williams one of the top running backs in the state of Arkansas.

A broken foot in his sophomore year threatened to abruptly truncate his career, however, Williams rose back to his feet. In 2004, he led his team to her first ever state 4A championship title.

In track, Williams was no less successful, rising to a letterman. He led his school to 2nd place overall at the 2001 state championship. Williams became one of the fastest men in Arkansas and as of the time of writing this piece, still holds the state record for the 100 m dash, clocking at 10.81 sec.

When college time came, Williams who had his name among the top prospects in the state was recruited by three schools – the universities of Iowa, Arkansas, and Mississippi. However, he later chose the University of Memphis’ Memphis Tigers football team. In college, Williams let go of track & field in order to focus on football.

He impressed greatly throughout his college years, sweeping accolades as he went. For three consecutive years, he was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. He was named to a couple of All-America selections and was a finalist for the coveted Doak Walker Award in 2005.

Williams entered the 2006 NFL Draft and was originally considered to be among the top 10 pick, however, most teams opted for the option of free agency in selecting their running back, thus, Williams would later be selected 27th overall by the Carolina Panthers. After almost a decade with the team, Williams left in March 2015 to join the Pittsburgh Steelers on a two-year contract which expired in 2016.

A huge fan of pro wrestling, Williams made his debut in April 2017. His first Slammiversary XV match which was a tag team match where his performance earned rave reviews. He retired from wrestling in July 2017.

Deangelo was born to parents Sandra Hill and Odell Hill. His mother Sandra was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and after a 10-year bout, she passed in May 2014. Williams is married to his college sweetheart, Risalyn Burzynski. They share three kids together including a son and two daughters. Despite being together since college and raising three kids thereafter, Deangelo and Risalyn only got married in July 2016.
