Her parents divorced shortly after her birth and this led her mom to start catering for her needs while studying arts at the University of Minnesota simultaneously. According to records, Deidra’s parents were very young when they got married which could be the reason they called off their rushed marriage just after two years.

Loni’s marriage to her second husband, Ross Bickell lasted from 1973 to 1981. Since 17th May 2008, she has been married to one of the founding members of the folk band – The Brothers Four, Bob Flick. The two met for the first time in 1963 at a movie premiere in Minneapolis.

Loni’s world fell apart in the year 2009 when she learned that her daughter, Deidra Hoffman, had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (a disabling disease of the spinal cord and brain – central nervous system). The actress did not only accompany her daughter to every treatment session, but she also stood by her throughout her struggle with the disease.
Though Deidra Hoffman underwent treatment immediately after the diagnosis, the disease, however, recurred several times. At the time of writing, Deidra is doing great with her family.
