Praet won his second cap for Belgium over four years after making his debut against the Netherlands in a 1–1 draw in October 2018. Praet was a regular for Anderlecht during the 2012–13 season, as the club won their second consecutive league title. Early in 2014, he was given a two-year contract extension that will keep him working until the summer of 2017. On May 25, 2014, he scored the third goal in Anderlecht’s 3–1 Jupiler Pro League play-off win over Lokeren, securing the club’s 33rd league title and third in a row.

On August 31, 2014, Praet made his 100th competitive appearance for the club in a league match against Club Brugge. He put Anderlecht ahead against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League group stage on September 16, but Galatasaray equalized in additional time. His first league goal came in a 2–2 draw at home against Club Brugge in the 2014–15 season when he scored Anderlecht’s first goal to level midway through the first half.
