Dillon Francis was born on October 5, 1987, in Los Angeles, California. The musician’s father, Robert Drew Francis, is an American, his mother is Serbian-Croatian. Dillon Francis was brought up in a reserved family and was shielded from the outside world. His parents didn’t allow him to mix up with other kids in the neighborhood and also strictly regulated his viewing of television programmes. This reflected in his dealings with people, as according to him, he didn’t know any swear words until he was 15. But in all this, he was always inclined to the artistic side of life.
He attended the Los Angeles High School for Arts and studied painting and printmaking. After high school, he proceeded to Santa Monica College. However, he later dropped out of school. Francis’ music career was the next venture that followed.
In 2010, Dillon Francis came in contact with producer Diplo after which he collaborated on Que Que. The song made him quite popular and Dillon Francis was only encouraged to do more. He further rose to fame when his song Masta Blasta was edited to moombahton standard by Dutch musician Muchi; it was indeed an exciting time for the musician.
