Dylan O’Brien is a young American actor best known for his lead roles in the dystopian science-fiction adventure trilogy The Maze Runner. He gained much popularity as a teenager as he was known for uploading several videos and short films on his YouTube channel. He has gone a great deal in terms of working in movies and television projects.

Biography

O’Brien was born on August 26, 1991, in New York City to his father Patrick O’Brien a camera operator of Irish descent and his mother Lisa Rhodes of Italian, English and Spanish ancestry known during their time as an actress. He was raised by his parents in Springfield Township, New Jersey before they moved to Hermosa Beach, California. His mother is also known for managing an acting school which at that time was a good source of income for the family. He reportedly has an older sister named Julia.

Inspired by his mother, O’Brien developed a keen interest in acting and began to make short videos which he usually uploads on his YouTube channel which went viral and gaining appraisal from his viewers. Dylan O’Brien attended Mira Costa High School and graduated in 2009. He then moved to Syracuse University for his higher education but he later dropped out to fully focus on his career as an actor.

His role in the 2014 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film ‘Maze Runner’ helped him gain more popularity and visibility. The successes of the films at the box office also played a major role in his financial earnings. He was also chosen to play a major role in the disaster drama ‘Deepwater Horizon’. The film was released in 2016 and it was based on a real-life tragic event.
