In 1994, he would get into another trouble following his involvement in a four-car crash that had him suspended for three games and fined $10,000.
He continued racing for the team until 1996 when he moved to Ferrari on a contract to be paired with Michael Schumacher.
When Schumacher broke his leg in 1999 at the British Grand Prix, the Irish man took up the challenge of becoming the team leader and he almost won the championship which he ended in second place.
His next movement was to Jaguar in 2000 and he remained there until 2002 at the Japanese Grand Prix.
