Before she joined CNN, she worked for ABC News, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and other media outlets. While she covered the United Nations (UN) for ABC News, she reported on diplomatic and foreign policy matters for AFP.

Disregarding that, Ms Labott is having a smooth career with the television news channel. A of her highlighted that she has interviewed and travelled the world with five Secretaries of State.

She was also credited for reporting many major global events like:

  3. The Palestinian civil unrest and Israeli war with Lebanon in 2006;
