Ellie Goulding is an English singer and songwriter who has met fame having started out as a professional musician in 2010. The Grammy-nominated singer has not only got a massive followership, Ellie has also recorded many awards and honors both as an individual singer and for various collaborations.

Biography and Age

The singer was born Elena Jane Goulding on 30th December 1986 in Hereford, England. Ellie and her 3 siblings were mostly raised by her mother after her biological father left the family when she was still a little girl of 5 years old. She described her father who came from a family of undertakers as obsessed with murder.

The difficulty of her childhood continued even after her mother Tracy Goulding got married a second time. Although Goulding did not reveal much details about the kind of man her stepfather was, she said he was completely horrible and that she wouldn’t mind hitting him in the face if she ever got to meet him again. Just like her biological father, her stepfather also left her mother. Good riddance in her opinion.

Goulding who had grown to love music and musical instruments attended the Lady Hawkins’ High School from where she moved to the University of Kent. She didn’t complete her college education as she was made to leave school and pursue a full-time career in music. Before then, she also attended the Hereford Sixth Form College.

The first single she released, Under the Sheet (2009), was very successful so that by 2010, she had dropped her debut album, Lights which went on to record double platinum. Before then, she had already made a name for herself by winning the British Sound of…which was won by the likes of 50 Cent in 2003 and in 2008.

In 2012, she released Halcyon (with 3 platinum) as her second studio album and it was followed in 2015 by Delirium which recorded platinum as well.

Following a career which has thus far seen her working with great people such as Tinie Tempah and , Ellie Goulding has been nominated for more than sixty awards including the Grammy which came for Love Me Like You Do. Also, she has won many awards such as the Cosmopolitan’s Ultimate Woman of the Year Awards, Jimmie Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and the Q Awards.

As far as relationships are concerned, Ellie Goulding has had her own fair share of it all. She has been linked to more men than the fingers on both hands can represent. One of the very big names that she has dated is . Although the relationship didn’t last long, it was certainly well publicised.

Another person who she has dated is English radio presenter, Greg James. The two were together from 2009 until 2011 when they both went their separate ways. The next boyfriend was American Disc Jockey, Skrillex and after that relationship, Goulding went out with British actor Jeremy Irvine from 2012 to 2013.

She was also rumored to have dated English singer Luke Friend. In the same year, Ellie began dating Dougie Poynter. The relationship sustained until 2016 before crashing like others before it. In that same year, she took up a very heated love affair with Bobby as her next boyfriend.

Towards the end of 2017, the electronic pop singer moved on to Caspar Jopling who is a New York-based art dealer. As at the second half of 2018, the two were still together.
