Ereck Flowers is one guy you would not want to offend if you judge him by his looks as the New York Giants offensive tackle; he is huge and mean on the surface. But in the real sense of it, Flowers is an extremely quiet guy only not on the field because he does all of his talking there – shutting the mean guys up with his playing style.

Despite the fact that the Miami-born athlete recently lost his position to another player, he has shown a positive attitude and has sought to put in more effort to try and reclaim his starting berth with the Giants. This singular trait has made his coach and teammates impressed. Let’s take a look at his life history up until now to see how he got here.

Ereck Flowers’ Bio

Ereck Flowers was born on April 25, 1994, in Miami Florida to his parents Tanya Stokes and Everald Flowers. Ereck attended Miami Norland High School where he played both basketball and football before he decided to settle for football. He was so good in the game that he was ranked as the 20th best offensive tackle in his class. After high school, he had several schools offering him admissions such as Purdue University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and the University of Miami Florida which he chose over the others.

In 2012, as a freshman at the University of Miami, Ereck Flowers played in 12 games at the right tackle and made four starts. In 2013, his sophomore year, he played his 12 games at left tackle and at the end of 2014, he made the bold decision to enter the 2015 NFL draft forgoing his senior year.

Career

Ereck Flowers was selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft with the ninth overall pick by the New York Giants. During the signing of his contract, Ereck stood as his own agent and signed a four-year deal worth $14.4 million on June 15, 2015. Many believed he saved about $430,000 for representing himself. This singular act was unexpected for the lad but was considered a genius move. Despite lofty expectations, Ereck’s performance so far has been below par which has disappointed football fans, analysts, and even his team, the New York Giants. He has conceded tons of penalties for the team in almost every match. He has even been labeled a liability to the team because of his inability to cover up openings in the field.

His game was seen to be improving when in November 2017, he recorded 318 pass blocking snaps, 77 pass blocking snaps and 0 pressures. Although the scores show he is beginning to look like the man the Giants wanted, more had been expected of him. The little improvement cannot write away his incompetence for the last couple of years. The New York Giants on March 15, 2018, replaced him with , a much older and experienced player to play the left tackle.

This move has seen Ereck moved to the right tackle which he has taken with good grace and has sought ways to make improvements on his game, so much to the admiration of his coach and other teammates who are happy with his response to the challenge. In an interview, he affirmed his love for football and said he will do his best in whatever position he is asked to play, as long as he remains in the game of football.

Family – Father, Mother

Ereck Flowers lost his mother, Tanya Stocks to stomach cancer when he was only 8 years old. His father, Everald Flowers was 28 years old at the time of her demise. He became everything to his son in a bid to fill the void. He offered his assistance to his son and helped in his training since he also played football while in school.

While in college, his dad showed up on all his games and they hung out regularly like buddies. In 2015, when Ereck was drafted into the New York Giants, his dad went with him to his first game wearing the same outfit as his son.

Height, Weight, Body Measurements

Ereck Flowers has always been a hunk of a man. In high school, he was a little above 6 feet, and by the time he was in college, he had become 6 feet 4 inches tall. He was a bit on the skinny side but immediately he began playing the game of football, all he did was eating and weightlifting which ensured that he currently weighs about 325 pounds, a weight good enough to wreck havoc in the football field.
