Eric Benét Jordan was born on the 15th of October, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the youngest of five children. When Eric was younger, he formed a band called Benét with his older sister Lisa, and George Nash Jr – his cousin. The band released their first album in 1992 and it went on to sell over 100,000 copies.

Merely two years later, Eric re-emerged on the music scene as a solo artist and signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. In 1996, he released True To Myself, his debut solo album with  Warner Bros. Records. In 1999, he released A Day In The Life, his second album. This album featured “Spend My Life With You (ft. Tamia)” which was one of his biggest singles. The song made it to number one on the US Billboard R&B charts. It was also certified gold and nominated for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group” at the 2000 Grammy Award show. The album also went on to win several accolades including the Soul Train Music Award for “Best R&B/Soul Album, Male”.

Personal Life

The actor’s life has been affected by several tragedies which have affected him significantly. First, he lost his father to cancer and then in 1993, his girlfriend – Tami Marie Stauff – passed away from an automobile accident injuries. At the time of Tami’s death, she and Eric Benét already had a daughter together, India who was born in 1991. For a time, Eric raised India as a single father.

In 2012, he released another album, The One, which included the song “Real Love” which was the number one Urban Adult Contemporary song shortly after its release. Other hit songs from the album included “Harriett Jones” and “Runnin”.

In 2014, he released an international album, The Other One, proving that he had no intentions of slowing down. Over the years, Eric has proven that he deserves his net worth. He has quietly become one of the hard-working men in the music industry.

In July 2011, Eric got married to Manuela Testolini (who was once married to the iconic musician, ). Eric and Manuela had their first daughter, Lucia Bella on the 21st of December, 2011. The couple had their second child, another daughter – Amoura Luna in July 2014.
