Erin Bria Wright popularly known as E.B. is an American pop singer, songwriter, television personality and entrepreneur. She is the loving daughter of the rap icon, Eazy-E who was best known as a member of N.W.A. rap group.

July 16, 1991, saw the birth of Erin Bria Wright in Compton California. She is one of the nine children born to the late rapper, Eazy E. Erin was raised by her mother after the controversial death of her father in 1995 when she was 4. Details about her early life and education are not known, however, growing up in the house of a rap artist and a music manager exposed her to music early. She grew up listening to artists like Avril Lavigne and and staying around DJ Quik and . Erin became interested in acting and took acting classes at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Career

Anyone would think that her musical talent is from her father but the young star gives the credits to her mother instead. Her first musical project, We Want E.B. is similar to her father’s We Want Eazy and was launched when she was 19, followed by her debut single, What I Wanna Do which was released in December 2012. Girl Crush, Can’t Believe It and Dear Daddy are among her other singles.

Erin has more feathers on her cap than just music. She is an actress and made her television debut in 2007 on MTV’s My Super 16. Other MTV programs that have featured her include Rants and Raves, The Monday Dish, and the reality series, My Sweet 16 Presents: Exiled. Being an entrepreneur, she launched her own clothing website, Wewanteb.com, has her own hat line and also produces shirts.

The out-spoken singer felt that much facts about her father’s life were left out in the biopic film, Straight Outta Campton. She set out to produce a documentary titled A Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies, to fill in the void. To tell the story the Wright way, her mother, brother, and older sister became part of the production process.

Erin was born to West coast rapper and producer, Eazy-E and Tracy Jernigan. Her father, born Eric Lynn Wright on September 7, 1964, is best known for being a member of the late 80’s gangsta rap group, N.W.A which have among its members , and 

After he dropped out of high school, he was introduced to selling drugs by his cousin and did so to support himself. He would later become a rapper after he left drugs co-founding Ruthless Records with Jerry Heller. Eazy-E earned the title of Godfather of Gangsta Rap for pioneering the rap music genre.

The legendary rapper died on March 26, 1995, from the complications of AIDS. Jason Mitchell portrayed him in the 2015 movie, Straight Outta Compton, which focuses on the rise and fall of the group, N.W.A., and its members. The movie which was dedicated to his memory and directed by F. Gary Gray, was nominated for an Academic Award for Original Screenplay. He had affairs with different women resulting in many children but got married to Tomica Woods-Wright few weeks before his death.

Her mother, Jernigan was a music manager. Among those she managed was DJ Uneek who ended up doing a lot of the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony music. Jernigan worked with DJ Quik and Lil’ 1/2 Dead and discovered Seven Aurelius. She also worked with many writers and producers including the producer Detail who did Beyonce’s Drunk In Love. She was with Eazy-E from 1988 but they were separated a year before his death.

Erin has nine siblings: Lil Eazy-E, Daijah, Dominick, Baby Eazy-E, David, Elijah, Raven, and Marquise. Most of them are in the show business with Lil Eazy-E, Yung Eazy and Baby Eazy-E taking after their father in the rap scene. Their father was a doting parent who loves his children despite the fact that they have different mothers and loves to spend time with them. Erin has a fuzzy memory of her father but remembers him as warm, funny, playful and had enjoyed the sillier side of his personality.
