When news of the breakup between Mia Goth and whose union seemed to be a perfect one hit the media, it wasn’t surprising though as many thought it was long overdue. There was a lot on cheating rumors on the part of LaBeouf so many were surprised the relationship still stood. And even though their separation was anticipated, what was not expected, however, was the fact that he has already found a new lady.
One thing that has remained constant in the deets going round about their divorce is the fact that the decision to split was amicable. Although various hypothesis abounds, the theory is that the Fury actor and The Survivalist actress are parting ways just after two years of living together as man and wife. Here is all we know about the former couple and their divorce story.
How It All Started
Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf met while filming Lars von Triers’ erotic two-part epic Nymphomaniac in 2012 after which they started dating. Then in 2015, Goth was spotted wearing a band on her ring finger prompting engagement rumors. That wasn’t far from the truth anyway as they tied the knot the following year.
The English model cum actress and the American actor reportedly got married in an Elvis themed Las Vegas wedding ceremony on October 10, 2016. The fact that the nuptial turned out to be a surprise they never anticipated made it all the more fun. The world found out about their intended private ceremony courtesy of a live streaming. They were offered a live stream as part of the package by the Viva Vegas Wedding Chapel but they declined only to find out that the gossip website TMZ shared a live stream video feed of them saying “I do” before their parents and other onlookers.
The couple were nonetheless proud of the whole thing and were grateful the streaming happened as it afforded family members who were absent to tune in and watch. The marriage was the first for the two.
Despite claims from a local official that they were not legally married but only had a commitment ceremony performed for them suggesting that LaBeouf could have put up a performance art stunt, he confirmed their nuptials on The Ellen DeGeneres Show later that month. Moreover, he revealed how his perspective of marriage has changed since he got married on E! News. He also admitted that regardless of the conjectures many have about marriage, with cynics stating that once one gets married everything changes, it’s actually better on that side and the changes are for the better too.
Everything You Must Know About Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf Divorce
In September 2018, the news of Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf’s separation surfaced. It also went on to state that they have also filed for a divorce. The surprising news came after reports that LeBeouf is now dating the British singer FKA Twigs (born Tahliah Debrett Barnett). Initially, everyone thought it was just a rumor until a representative for LaBeouf confirmed the news to People magazine. In his statement, he said that the separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private.
Shia could have started seeing the singer after meeting on the set of his new film, Honey Boy in May 2018. The duo has been spending a lot of time together and according to a source, is very happy and having a nice time.
Prior to FKA Twigs and his former partner Mia Goth, Shia LaBeouf dated his co-star in The Greatest Game Ever Played, China Brezner from 2004 to 2007. Afterward, he moved on to another co-star, English actress from August 2009 to October 2010. On the singer’s end, she was formerly engaged to actor in 2015 until 2017 when they called it quits due to distance and time apart.
Besides the cheating rumors on Shia’s part, Mia may have hinted on an impending separation long before he showed up with his new lady. Additionally, she started splitting her time between London and New York while he resides in London.
Their split also has an interesting twist to it. While Shia and his new lady are having a nice time together, Goth and Twigs’ ex, Pattison who is currently dating Suki Waterhouse has been busy promoting their new film promoting High Life together. Mia also starred opposite and Tilda Swinton in Luca Guadagnino’s remake of the 1970s horror film Suspiria which was released on November 2, 2018.
