Anyone who follows the games of the Major League Baseball will no doubt be very familiar with the name Aaron Judge. Hitting a home run in his first-time batting against a pitcher on the field, Judge has gone on to reach remarkable heights in his baseball career. He has been named Rookie of the Year and Player of the Month for his career performances and has made (and broken) several MLB records since he made his debut. Thanks to his towering height of 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m) and a weight of 282 pounds (128 kg), Aaron is one of the largest players to grace the fields of the major leagues.
Aaron Judge’s Ethnicity and Other Background Info
This athlete hails from the town of Linden, in San Joaquin, California. Born on April 26, 1992, Aaron was adopted by teachers (Patty and Wayne Judge) a day after he was born. Named Aaron James Judge, he found out he was adopted when he was 10 years old. This didn’t stop him from feeling right at home with his adopted parents though.
Judge is a bi-racial African American. He has an older brother called John who was also adopted by Patty and Wayne. Growing up in Linden, Judge attended Linden High School, becoming a star athlete in three sports while in school. He was a pitcher and first baseman for the baseball team, center for the basketball team, and a wide receiver for the football team.
Thanks to his star athlete status, several schools tried to recruit him. It was at the suggestion of his parents that he decided to enroll in a university. With his preference in baseball, he chose to attend California State University, Fresno, joining the Fresno State Bulldogs baseball team.
Details of His Career Earnings and Accomplishments
Once Aaron Judge was done with college, he decided it was time to join the big leagues. Moving into his professional career, the New York Yankees picked Judge in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft. He got signed to the Yankees with a $1.8 million signing bonus. However, after tearing a quadriceps femoris muscle during drills, he was out for the 2013 season. His professional debut was against the Charleston RiverDogs of the minor league Class A South Atlantic League. Thanks to his high performance, he got promoted to the Class A-Advanced League team, the Tampa Yankees.
Aaron Judge made his major league debut on August 13, 2016, starting in right field in a match against the Tampa Bay Rays. He got his first career grand slam on May 28 of the same year against the Oakland Athletics. With his popularity growing, the Yankees created a cheering section in the right-field seats of their stadium, naming it ‘The Judge’s Chambers.’ The section has three rows with 18 seats in section 104 of the stadium stands.
In 2017, thanks to a unanimous vote, Judge became the American League (AL) Rookie of the Year. The same year, he was crowned the second Most Valuable Player of the AL. His 2017 season was also a record-breaking one. Aaron Judge was named an All-Star in the season and became the first rookie to win the Home Run Derby. By the end of the season, he made 52 home runs, breaking the previous record of 49 made by Mark McGwire. In April, May, June, and September, he was named AL Rookie of the Month.

As part of his one-year contract in the MLB with the Yankees (signed on March 13, 2018), Judge earned an annual salary of $622,300. Under MLB rules, players with less than three years of service have their salaries determined by the team. If there is no long-term contract signed after the player’s third season, the said player can then negotiate salaries with the team. Aaron Judge will be able to do this after the 2019 MLB season ends. Should he be sent back to the minors, his contract states his annual pay will be reduced to $272,250. With all that said, this star athlete is worth $10 million.
Who Is Aaron Judge Dating?
Like any star athlete or celebrity, everyone wonders who the special person in Aaron Judge’s life is. People have also wondered if the Rookie of the Year winner is a married man. While Judge isn’t married, he has had his fair share of relationships; like the one he had with Jen Flaum.
The couple was first spotted together at the 2017 US Open match between Rafael Nadal and Leonardo Mayer. Using Halloween to showcase their love, Judge dressed up as superhero Clark Kent/Superman and Jen as Lois Lane, journalist and Superman’s love interest. They shared pictures of themselves in costume on Jen’s Instagram page. All seemed to be going well until early 2018 when reports surfaced that the relationship had ended. This was later confirmed by the fact that Aaron Judge stopped following Jen Flaum on Instagram.
Pictures of Aaron Judge and his childhood friend Bitt Hodges surfaced recently. In early April 2018, the pair were spotted making the rounds around the city of New York. While there has been no official confirmation of a relationship, Hodges did thank Aaron for the adventures on her Instagram.
