Grace Chatto is a British singer and musician. Chatto attended the Royal Academy of Music and is a cellist, percussionist, and vocalist of high repute. She is a member of the Clean Bandit band which she formed in collaboration with the brothers Jack and Luke Patterson, including Neil Amin-Smith whom she met while they all studied at the University of Cambridge.

Clean Bandit’s single Rather Be won them a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Dance Recording. Chatto studied modern languages at Jesus College and speaks Italian and Russian fluently.

Grace Elizabeth Chatto was born on December 10, 1985, in London, England to Ruth and Ricky Chatto. She was a student at The Latymer School and Westminster School. She also attended the Royal Academy of Music and Jesus College, at the University of Cambridge where she studied Modern Languages. She got to meet the brothers Jack and Luke Patterson as well as Neil Amin-Smith with whom she formed the Clean Bandit band while at Cambridge University, as they were also studying there at the time. For a time, Chatto and Amin-Smith together led a string quartet.

Chatto speaks fluent Russian Italian and Russian and she once turned down a job offer at Mi6 to pursue a career as a musician. Chatto once worked has a music teacher but wound up being fired when it was discovered that she appeared nearly nude in a music video. Grace Chatto is in a relationship with fellow band member Jack Patterson. Grace is 1.70 m (5 feet 6 inches) tall and weighs 121 lb (55 kg). She has a net worth of $10 million.

Music Career with Clean Bandit Band

The Clean Bandit band was formed in 2008 but it was not until 2012 that their debut single A+E was released, A+E was followed by Mozart’s House in 2013 which became an instant hit peaking at number 17 on the UK Singles chart. The Mozart’s House music video earned the band a UK Music Video Award nomination in the category Best Dance Video – Budget.

The band collaborated with Jess Glynne to release Rather Be in 2014. Rather Be turned out to be their first single to top the UK charts and sold over a million copies, the only song to beat Rather Be in UK sales was ‘ Happy. It went to top the Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Austrian, and German charts and peaked at the number 10 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Rather Be won the band a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Dance Recording. In 2014, the band released its debut album called New Eyes which went gold. Clean Bandit’s second chart-topping single was Rockabye which was released in 2016 and featured Anne-Marie and dance hall artist . Not only did Rockabye stay on number hit on the UK Singles chart, but it also became the 2016 Christmas number one single and topped a host of international charts including the Italian, Australian, Irish, Swiss and Swedish charts. Since the formation of the Clean Bandit, Chatto has directed and produced their videos. She created a film production company called Cleanfilm with Jack Patterson in 2011 with the aim to make their own music videos and make videos for other artists.

The band’s single, Tears from their second album featured The X Factor winner of 2015 Louisa Johnson. Tears peaked at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart. Their 2017 Singles, I Miss You went platinum. Chatto and her band members are politically conscious and have given performances during the UK Labour party events.
