While some people had a flair for acting from a very young age, the same can’t be said of Harry Goaz who dabbled into acting right after he graduated from college. The American screen star is best remembered for his remarkable roles in movies and TV series such as Eerie Indiana, Twin Peaks, and The Underneath, just to mention a few.

Harry Goaz began his acting career in the year 1989 and has been active in the industry for over three decades and counting. Harry Goaz’s Early Life 

Born Harry Preston King on the 27th day of December 1960, he is a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina. And although he was born in Jacksonville, it was in Beaumont City of Texas that Harry grew up. His nationality is American while he belongs to the white ethnic descent.

This thespian completed his basic education in Beaumont neighbourhood and after his graduation, he proceeded to the University of Texas at Austin. There, he acquired a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. While he was there, it is imperative to note that, Harry never had the intention of pursuing a career in acting and theatre. However, after his graduation, he met David Lynch, a talented American filmmaker who inspired him to start acting. In order to hone his acting skills, Goaz enrolled at The Loft Studio in Los Angeles where he studied acting under the tutelage of William Traylor.

Career Achievements

Harry Goaz got his first acting role when he was cast as Deputy Sheriff Andy Brennan in David Lynch’s mystery horror drama series, Twin Peaks. The TV series follows FBI investigation into the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer. The investigation is headed by Special Agent Dale Cooper (played by Kyle MacLachlan) and it also stars Michael Ontkean and Warren Frost, among others. He also appeared in the show’s sequels Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) and Twin Peaks (2017).

Later on, he portrayed the role of Sgt. Knight in Tim Hunter’s NBC series, Eerie Indiana from 1991 to 1992. In 1995, he played the role of Guard Casey in the American crime drama The Underneath along with Alison Elliott and Peter Gallagher. His next project came in 2005 when he portrayed Layton in the film, Deadroom.

He followed it up with an appearance in the 2009 drama, St. Nick directed by David Lowery. In the year that followed, Harry Goaz appeared in the sci-fi film, Earthling alongside Peter Greene and Rebecca Spencer. In 2014, he featured in Twin Peaks: Missing Pieces and the following year, he portrayed Harry in the short film, Figurehead. He was last seen in the third season of the long-running ABC series Twin Peaks in 2017.

Family Details

Like we mentioned earlier, Harry Goaz is a Jacksonville, North Carolina native and was born into an average American family. The actor is very secretive and has never shared many details with regards to his parents and family. More so, it is hard to tell if he is their only child or not. He has been tight-lipped about issues regarding his personal life and family.
