Heather Dinich was born in Indiana, in the United States on October 25, 1974. She was raised along with her two siblings by their parents Dave Dinich and Carol Dinich. When she was growing up, she developed an interest in sports and often watched them on television along with her father Dave, in some occasions, the duo would go to the games to watch them live. She attended Pottsville Area High School and graduated in 1997. While at Pottsville, she was reporting for Tide Lines, Pottsville High’s Student Newspaper.

After her graduation from High school, she enrolled at Indiana University in Bloomington where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism after which she got a two-year internship program with Washington Post. Heather was able to cover the college men’s basketball coach legend Bobby Knight and eventually wrote a story for Washington Post when he got fired.

The talented journalist returned to Pennsylvania in 2002 where she worked as a reporter for Centre Daily Times. Dinich was covering Penn State Football and her relationship with the Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno popularly known as JoePa was a very rocky one.

Later on, she joined Baltimore Sun where she worked as a sports journalist, reporting for University of Maryland’s men basketball as well as football. The amazing reporter worked for three years and left Baltimore Sun in 2007.
