Marie Osmond is a talented and versatile individual in every sense of the word. She has enjoyed a flourishing career as a singer, bestselling author, an acclaimed actress, a talk show host and most of all, a philanthropist. She rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s as a country musician and also became popular on account of hosting TV show Donny & Marie with her popular musician brother – Donny Osmond. Marie has a voice that continues to echo and ring true till today as she recently joined The Talk as a new co-host in September 2019.

The award-winning Marie was born in Ogden Utah, the U.S. on the 13th of October 1959. It’s hard to believe that this stunning actress, singer and TV host would be clocking 60 in 2019. She appears to be aging backwards.
Marie has had a robust career in the entertainment industry. Growing up in a family that is firmly rooted in the show business, she understood quite early how to maneuver her career and make the most of it. Although she wasn’t part of her brother’s singing group, Marie Osmond made appearances with them but focused more on her solo singing career as a country musician where she found resounding success.
Her debut single – Paper Roses made it to the number one spot on two Billboard charts and she has since released several other Billboard chart-topping songs and albums. She has earned two Grammy nominations and several Academy of Country Music Awards nominations. She also won a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Duo of the Year.
Marie has authored 3 books which have all featured on New York Times Bestseller list. They include; Behind the Smile: My Journey Out (2001) – which chronicles her journey and struggle with postpartum depression, Might As Well Laugh About It Now (2009) – this was co-authored by Marcia Wilkie and it highlights the milestones and missteps in her life, The Key Is Love (2013) was also co-authored by Marcia Wilkie, it has the subtitle My Mother’s Wisdom, A Daughter’s Gratitude and focuses on her mother’s values.
Marie Osmond also appeared as a celebrity contestant in the 5th season of Dancing with the Stars. She was paired with Jonathan Roberts and they came out in the 3rd place. She came back to win the show in the 9th season with her professional dancing partner Kym Johnson.
Marie has featured in a series of films and television shows. Asides the television show Donny & Marie which she co-hosts with her brother, she has voiced various characters in several animation films.
Marie is a philanthropist. She founded the Children’s Miracle Network with John Schneider and the non-profit organization focuses on improving and saving the lives of children by providing hospital funds for North American children hospitals.
Like all her family members, she attends The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was raised. She remains a committed member till date.

One would assume that having a career this demanding won’t afford Marie the time to have children or raise a family. Ironically, she has been able to raise 3 biological and 5 of adopted children.
She married Stephen Lyle Craig (basketball player) in 1982 and welcomed her first and only child (Stephen James Craig) with him on the 20th of April 1983 their marriage ended in divorce in 1985.
In 1986, Marie found love again with Brian Blosil. She had two children with him – Rachael Lauren born 19th of August 1989 and Mathew Richard born on the 6th of August 1998. During her marriage to Blosil, the couple adopted 5 children. They are Jessica Marie who was born on the 17th of December 1987, Michael Bryan born 4th May 1991 – who tragically committed suicide on the 26th of February 2010 after a long struggle with substance abuse and depression. The couple also adopted Brandon Warren born November 1996, Brianna Patricia born on the 19th of November 1997 and Abigail Olive May born on the 5th of September 2002.
Marie Osmond herself grew up in a large family, she is the only girl of her parent’s nine children and this might be why she also wanted a large family.
Sadly, her second marriage with Blosil ended in divorce in 2007. She then remarried her first husband (Stephen Craig) in 2011 and the couple has been together since then with their love waxing stronger.
