Now, let’s explore this side of Nicholas Cage that you probably never knew about.
Nicholas Cage’s Multiple Failed Marriages
Some say Cage is cursed in marriages, as he has been involved in quite a few so far in his life. Here’s a list of the ex-wives of Cage:
- Married in 1995, they separated in early 1996 and divorced sometime in 2001.
Cage and a friend met actress, Patricia (who was 19 at the time) at Canter’s Deli restaurant in Los Angeles. He went overboard in his attempt to woo her to marry him, almost to the point of freaking her out; this was sometime in the late 1980s. They lost touch for a while but fate brought them together again in the mid-1990s and they rekindled their love, getting married in 1995, just 2 weeks after bumping into each other again. They got married at the top of a cliff in California, and the ceremony had only 1 guest in attendance. The marriage went through its highs and lows with the couple reportedly fighting a lot. They filed and withdrew divorce charges against each other over the course of their marriage before they formally untied their marital knot in 2001.
Lisa Marie Presley
- Married in August 2002, divorced sometime in 2004.
Nicolas Cage and Lisa Presley (daughter of music legend, Elvis Presley) got married in August 2002 in a romantic ceremony in Hawaii, and in a Dramatic twist, Cage filed for divorce from his wife just 107 days after, citing irreconcilable differences as the main reason he was seeking a divorce. Cage stated that he considered his marriage to Lisa a great mistake, and reflected that they shouldn’t have gotten married at all in the first place.
- Married in 2004 and divorced sometime in 2016
Alice was Cage’s third attempt at marriage. They got married on a private cattle ranch in Northern California in July 2004. She gave birth to Cage’s second son named Kal-El, and they were married for 12 years. In an interview, Cage stated that he didn’t really want his marriage with Kim to end and that he considered that the only real marriage that he entered into.
- Married in March 2013 and divorced in June 2013
Cage and Koike dated each other for about a year before they decided to get married; the pair kept their relationship low key and were first seen together vacationing in April 2018 in Puerto Rico. They eventually tied the wedding knots on March 2013 in Las Legas and had barely begun their honeymoon when Cage shocked the world and asked for either an annulment or dissolution of their marriage that was just 4 days old.
Cage gave a few reasons for asking for the annulment of his marriage to Koike. For starters, he stated that he was highly intoxicated before and during his wedding to Koike, and wasn’t in his right frame of mind to understand the full implications of his action. Nicolas Cage disclosed that Koike was involved in another relationship while they were courting, which she never disclosed to him. He also claimed that Koike had criminal records in her past. He was granted divorce by the court in June 2013.
