Christina Perri Biography

The singer was born Christina Judith Perri on August 19, 1986, in the United States Bensalem, Pennsylvania. She was brought up with her brother Nick Perri by their parents Dante Perri who is from Italy and Mary Perri from Poland.

Although their parents worked as hairdressers, they encouraged their children to go to the theatre and summer camp as well as to play music. It was thanks to this that both Christina Perri and her brother Nick Perri who is a guitarist and songwriter would find their ways as musicians.

She attended Archbishop Ryan High School from where she graduated in 2004 and then she proceeded to college but later dropped out to focus on her music.

While growing up, the singer was so emotional that she would play music and cry. She had therapists for a long time who tried to find out why she was as emotional as she was. Her next album, Head or Heart was released in 2014 and then in 2019, she released Songs for Carmella: Lullabies & Sing-a-Longs.

They eloped to Florida where they stayed for some time. However, the marriage ended in divorce less than a year later after Perri revealed that she woke up one day and nothing made sense to her. The two are still friends and even make fun of the time they were married.

In 2013, Christina Perri sat for an interview with American TV host Paul Costabile who was at the time, working as a radio DJ for iHeartRadio. Immediately she walked into the green screen, he knew that he wanted to marry her. After he was done with the interview, he emailed his mom to tell her he did a bit with the woman he was getting married to.

In June 2017, Costabile got a V-shaped engagement ring to resemble something that the singer grew up wearing and he proposed to her. By December that same year, they were already married. Even before tying the knot, Perri announced in August that she was pregnant. She gave birth to their first child together in January 2018, Carmella Stanley Costabile.
