His Relationship with Sharon Stone

The musician dated the actress and model in 1992. It is said that they met while filming an ad and became lovers thereafter. They went their separate ways after a while albeit not amicably. The Basic Instinct star infamously compared kissing Dwight Yoakam to smooching “a dirt sandwich”.

The actress is currently single and has also had her fair share of men. Nevertheless, unlike Yoakam, she has been married twice and has three adopted sons. Her first marriage was to TV producer Michael Greenburg (1984 to 1990) and then Phil Bronstein (1998 to 2004). In between her marriages, she dated several men including Dwight.

Back in the ’90s, Karen Duffy was a high-profile MTV personality who caught the fancy of popular figures like Dwight Yoakam. Now married to John Lambros since 1997, the fashion model and former MTV veejay dated the country music star from 1993 to 1994.

In the memoir she published in 2001, Karen asserted that Dwight woke her up to the world of real men after years of putting up with “unreal men”.

Why Dwight Yoakam and Bridget Fonda Broke Up

The two started dating after Fonda’s long term relationship with Eric Stoltz. She dated Eric from 1990 to 1998 and hooked up with Yoakam the following year. About three years later (in 2002), Fonda and Yoakam abandoned the relationship.

It was widely assumed that Yoakam’s busy schedule had something to do with their break up but Fonda suggested otherwise. She revealed in an interview that she wasn’t ready to take the relationship to the next stage. Nevertheless, she later tied the knots with soundtrack composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman, Danny Elfman. This happened a year after she ended her relationship with the country singer. Fonda and Danny now have a son named Oliver.

Before Stone, Yoakam reportedly had a short-lived relationship with a fellow country singer named Wynonna Judd. According to her mother Naomi Judd, Wynonna was Dwight Yoakam’s lover in the 80s. They dated while Yoakam was opening for the mother-daughter duo, The Judds.

Though the relationship was short-lived, Wynonna admitted in her memoir that they would have probably gotten married if they weren’t so busy with their fast-moving careers. She fondly recalls washing his skin-tight jeans. Judd may not have ended up with Yoakam but she has been engaged four times and married thrice with two children.

Who Is Dwight Yoakam Dating Now?

The musician is currently dating an English actress, Emily Joyce. She is best known for her role as Janet Dawkins in the BBC comedy series, My Hero (1999 – 2006). The pair began dating in 2013 and has been growing stronger.

Being his longest relationship yet, it is highly anticipated that the music star would settle down for marriage with Emily in the nearest future. Joyce and Dwight are yet to have any children together but she is a mother to two sons.
