Nathaniel Clyne is an England international right back who plays his club football for Merseyside outfit Liverpool FC. The defender, who is known for his power and strength in defending, as well as his ability to join or start an attack from the defense, is looking to break into the first team in the coming months having spent close to a year on the sidelines due to injuries.

Early Life and Education

Clyne was born Nathaniel Edwin Clyne on the 5th of April 1991 in Stockwell, London. From a very young age, the player had dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player. He and other kids always played pick up games in their estate, and it was during one of those games that Clyne was discovered by an academy coach named Steadman Scott.

Mr. Scott, who owned Afewee Academy, recruited Clyne and helped shape him into the player he is today. Clyne had started out as a striker but soon found himself playing the right back position due to his height. He embraced his new role and soon got the attention of bigger London clubs. In 1999, despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Clyne opted to join the relatively smaller Crystal Palace. He was a part of their youth team set up for eight years, before getting promoted to their senior team in 2008.

He made his first-team debut for Crystal Palace on the 18th of October 2008 in a Championship game against Barnsley. Two days after that game, he signed his first professional contract with the club. He spent four years with the senior team, playing a total of 137 games and winning its 2011 Player of the Year award before joining Southampton.

Clyne enjoyed huge success with the Saints as his performances earned him call-ups to the England under-21 and senior teams. He also got on the shopping list of Liverpool who was looking to replace veteran right-back, Glen Johnson. Liverpool eventually paid £12.5 million for Clyne services on the 1st of July, 2015 and the rest became history.

The pair later went their separate ways, leaving room for Clyne to linked up with Santos, who has starred in the online comedy show TrollStationUK and a music video by US musician . Clyne was pictured out and about with Santos in August 2017, as the two walked arm-in-arm through London in the rain. This prompted speculation that the pair might be an item but however, nothing was ever heard again from the duo.

A few months later, the England international began a relationship with Kelci Molloy who he met on Facebook. The pair reportedly hit it off immediately and quickly became a couple as they reportedly went on a romantic holiday to Qatar together. Everything seemed to be going fine for the couple until they were allegations made in the tabloids by Molloy who said that her man had been cheating on her while she was heavily pregnant with his child. She reportedly dumped him afterward and has gone ahead to have the child, a son Nathaniel, named after his father.
