So far, the English woman has carved a niche for herself as an actress, a model, and an artist, with little regard for her University of Cambridge’s Social and Political Sciences degree. Is Tilda Swinton married? That’s one question that many people ask about the actress. More than getting the answer to that question, the subsequent passages would offer details about Tilda’s early life, career, and what have you.
Early Life and Background Details
Tilda Swinton is a London-born English actress whose father was Sir John Swinton and mother, Judith Balfour. She was born on November 5, 1960. Tilda comes from a long line of Anglo-Scottish ancestors with a direct maternal link to 19th century’s Scottish Botany professor, John Hutton Balfour and a paternal link to Captain George Swinton, a 19th-century politician, and officer of arms.
She attended Queen’s Gate School, West Heath Girls’ School, and Fettes College before she proceeded to the University of Cambridge where she graduated with a degree in Social and Political Sciences in 1983.
Although Swinton performed on stage sometimes while in college, her acting career began in 1984 when she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since then, she has appeared in numerous films and television series. Some of her most notable films include The Deep End (2001), Michael Clayton (2007), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), Snowpiercer (2013), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Doctor Strange (2016), and Suspiria (2018).

As a model, Tilda Swinton has done pictorials and graced the cover of a good number of magazines, including Playboy, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times Style Magazine, and Vogue. As an artist, her best-known work is a live art installation piece she titled ‘The Maybe’, wherein she displayed herself sleeping in a glass case at the Serpentine Gallery, London.
