Jaire was born in Charlotte, South Carolina, on the 9th day of February 1997 as Jaire Zakar Alexander. He is an alumnus of Rocky River High School, Charlotte, North Carolina.

As a kid, he actually began playing the grid game from high school where he first recorded 30 tackles and 4 interceptions. As a wide receiver, he had 68 receptions for 1,123 yards, that is 16.5 average and 18 touchdowns. During his senior high school days, Jaire declared his commitment to the University of South Carolina but would later change his commitment to the University of Louisville, after his parents felt he wasn’t getting all he should from the school. So he began his college career in 2015 with Louisville under coach Bobby Petrino.

During his college career that ended in 2017, he had 77 tackles with 7 interceptions. In 2016 he was named Second-team All-ACC and after his junior season in 2017, Jaire Alexander decided to forgo his senior year and opted for the draft. He also did not play in the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl due to several injuries he sustained throughout the season.

In 2018, he was picked as the 18th overall by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and became the 3rd defensive back in the history of Louisville to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. The other two are DB Lenny Lyles and S Calvin Pryor. Jaire also became the first Louisville player to be drafted in the first round by the Green Bay.

In May 2018, he signed a four-year contract that will keep him with the team till 2022. The deal is worth $12.147 million including a $6.914 million signing bonus.
