James Michael Tyler was born on 28th May 1962 in Greenland, Mississippi, United State. He was named after his uncle. He prefers to be called by his middle name, Michael. His zodiac sign is Gemini. Tyler is the son of Dewitt Eugene Tyler and Mary Sue Pullen. He holds American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity. He is a Christian. He had four siblings in his family, one brother and two sisters, and he is the youngest one. At the age of 10, in 1973, he lost his father, and just after a year, he lost his mother too. After his parents’ death, he shifted his place to Anderson, South Caroline where he lived with his sister.
Regarding his academic background, he studied at TL Hanna High School. For higher education, he joined Anderson College and earned a 2-year degree in 1982. After two years, he enrolled at Clemson University and received a degree in Geology. During his time at Clemson, Tyler joined a student theatre group called ‘The Clemson Players’ and started acting. He took an interest in the acting field and in 1987, he went on to receive MFA Degree in Acting from the University of Georgia.
