Jason Kent Bateman was born on the 14th of July in 1969 to Kent Bateman and Victoria Elizabeth. His birth took place in New York but four years into his life, his family relocated to the capital of Utah, Salt Lake City.

Jason Bateman’s career in acting started off while he was still young and as a result of that, his education suffered neglect. He had to quit his high school education to focus on his acting career.

As previously mentioned, Bateman’s career in acting started off with him appearing in a commercial. The commercial was in 1980 when he was eleven years old, it was for a cereal company. By the next year, he was cast in the television show, Little House on the Prairie. He was on the show for one year before moving to another show, Silver Spoons in 1982. Bateman’s early acting jobs were only in television shows. His performance on the show, Silver Spoons did a lot for his fame and helped him bag a role on It’s Your Move where he played the role of Matthew Burton. The role was created specifically for him, as NBC – the studio in charge of the show, was hoping to glean some of the fame Jason was enjoying for their network.

Bateman’s first work in a film happened in 1987, seven years after his career began in 1980. The role of Todd Howard in the film, Teen Wolf Too consolidated the image of a teen idol that he had started to build with the television shows he had previously acted in. Jason Bateman’s career as an actor has maintained an upward incline ever since.

One of his biggest roles in television is that of Michael Bluth in the show, Arrested Development. Some of the films he has had roles in include Bad Words, This Is Where I Leave You, The Longest Week, Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses and many more.
