Jason is a native of Sacramento in California, born in April 1971. That is all the available information about Jason’s background. It is hard to say if the lack of public information on Jason Sehorn’s childhood, including the identity of his parents points to a difficult childhood he wants to keep secret, but at the moment, there is no information about his childhood life or parents and it seems Jason prefers it that way.

We are, however, familiar with his formal education history. Usually, aspiring football players spend their high school years building their profile from junior year to senior year, multiple seasons of winning and losing games, putting out performances and building a record for college scouts to be impressed by. That, however, was not the case of Jason Sehorn, who only played just one active year of high school football.

Although he spent the sole year at Mount Shasta High School, it is difficult to ascertain he spent his high school years entirely at the school. Howbeit, since we know that his jersey was retired by the school in 1999, that would suggest that he spent considerable time at the school or at least had a phenomenal year playing for the school.

After Sehorn graduated high school and before a became a college football player, he played baseball for two seasons. First for the American Legion Baseball team and for the Chicago Cubs, who signed him after seemingly impressed by what they saw. Sehorn, however, failed to impress at the Cubs and was demoted to rookie league, Huntington Cubs.

His one-year high school career turned out to be enough for him to get a college to shell out a scholarship for him with Shasta College offering him an education in exchange for his football talent. As a junior college, however, Jason spent two years at Shasta before he subsequently moved to the University of Southern California to finish his education and college career.

His college career offered him the experience of playing in a variety of positions, which proved to be a desired quality when he entered himself for the 1994 NFL Draft. He was signed by the New York Giants.

After a slow start to his Giants career, Sehorn grew into the team and recorded successful seasons in 1996 and 1997. He was unable to make it three consecutive seasons of success in 1998 after suffering a major knee injury in the opening game of the preseason against the New York Jets.

Despite no longer being the same player he was for the team after the injury, he spent two extra seasons at the Giants to a cumulative six seasons at the team before getting shipped to St. Louis Rams.

Sehorn was unable to replicate any of the excellence that saw him play six seasons for the Giants. After one season at St. Louis Rams, his contract with the team was terminated, forcing him into retirement, earlier than he would have hoped.

Since his retirement from football, Sehorn has been enjoying life away from the limelight. These days, Jason Sehorn uses his experience and expertise to run communications for Sonic Automotive. He became a part of the network’s roster of football analysts in 2011 and regularly features on their coverage of Thursday and Saturday Night games.
