The American football safety for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League was born on February 11, 1994, in Fort Myers, Florida. Kearse became a professional player in 2016 after he was being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the NFL 2016 Draft, but before then, he has played with a good number of teams where he earned a recognition as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Jayron Kearse started playing football from high school. He attended Cypress Lake High School where he played mostly as the team’s quarterback for three years. As a fresher, Kearse played defense before switching to the offensive side and recorded 1,600 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

He then moved to South Fort Myers High School in his senior years in January 2012 and there, he played as wide receiver, running back and as a safety. Not only did Kearse record 87 tackles, one interception and three sacks as a safety on defense, he led his team to record an 11-2 with 528 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 18.9 yards per reception. His strong defensive skills led to his invitation to play in the annual high school football all-star game known as the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, in Houston, Texas.

Aside from playing football, Kearse is also an athlete. He participated in the track & field for the Wolfpack and was even rated as the No. 16 athlete in the nation by Rivals and 247Sports.com. He decided to focus on playing football in 2011 while at Auburn University and in 2012, he announced his decision to join the University of Miami college team. On August 2, 2012, he pulled out from the Univerisity’s Hurricanes to join the Clemson University because, according to him, the Clemson coaches care much about their players’ welfare.

With the Clemson Tigers football team, Kearse played as a strong safety and he successfully recorded 164 total tackles, 11 pass breakups, seven interceptions and two forced fumbles. He also recorded two recovered fumbles in 1,998 snaps over 40 games with 29 starts in his career.

In 2014, Kearse started 12 of 13 games and registered 67 tackles, three sacks with three sacks, as a sophomore. By 2016, he announced his decision to forgo his senior season to join the NFL draft. This quite paid off for the young player as he is currently enjoying the benefit. Jayron Kearse earns a base salary of $630,000 with a dead cap value of $32,112 and a cap hit of $646,056 in 2018. This follows his earlier signed four-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings which included $64,224 signing bonus, $64,224 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $601,056.
