The singer/songwriter has two younger siblings called Timothy McCartney (brother) and Joyce Lea McCartney (sister). He completed his high school education at the New York-based public high school, Ardsley High School.

Until sometime in 2004, Jesse was one of our favourite actors. He started benefitting from Hollywood in 1998, the same year he made his first screen appearance in the TV soap opera, All My Children, as JR Chandler. His stint on the series lasted till 2001, which would turn out to be the same year he bagged his first movie roles in The Pirates of Central Park (as Simon Baskin) and Dream Street Live (as Himself). He embarked on his first headlining tour titled: Beautiful Soul Tour between 2004 and 2005. The second one, which he tagged Right Where You Want Me Tour took place between 2006 and 2007 while the third (Departure Mini-Tour) and fourth (Headlining Tour) was held in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The powerhouse songwriter’s latest tours were titled: Better With You U.S. Tour (2018) and The Resolution Tour (2018). He has also done some opening acts with Backstreet Boys (in 2005, 2013) and New Kids on the Block (2009) as well as a co-headlining tour (Jesse & Jordin LIVE Tour, 2008) with Jordin Sparkle to support his third album.

So far, Jesse McCartney has bagged eighteen nominations for his projects in both the movie and music industries and seven prestigious awards, including Best Vocal Ensemble in a Video Game (2013), Best Pop Song Performance – Male (for his debut album, Beautiful Soul), Best Vocal Ensemble in a Television Series (for TV series, Young Justice),  Choice Music: Breakout Artist – Male, and others.
