James Patrick Hoffer, better known as Jim Hoffer is the son of Patricia Hoofer and was born on November 1, 1963, in New York, United States. Jim has always had the passion for journalism and it led him to study communication and media in college. He graduated from Temple University with a bachelor of Arts degree in communication and media. He is American nationality and white ethnicity.

After graduating from the university, he began his professional career as a journalist working for WTIC-TV as an investigative journalist. He soon left to join Channel 7’s Eyewitness News Investigative Team in 1998 and worked there for two decades.

Jim is one for the big stages and not one to back down when the going gets tough. He has been at the center of almost every major story in the U.S. most especially in New York, from the 9/11 terrorist attack to the superstorm Sandy, to the blackout in 2003, to the crash of flight 587, to several suspicious train derails and many others.

After several undercover jobs, his records led to New York lawmakers’ decision to shut down New York’s gun show loophole requiring background checks for every gun purchased in the state. His investigation also led to the discovery of a Medicaid fraudulent operation in Harlem, New York, where certain individuals were caught defrauding the U.S. government in the pretense of providing medical assistance to persons who could not afford medical treatment. Their operations have since been shut down by the state’s officials, all thanks to an effective investigation by Jim.

New York lawmakers did change its law on mental competency for one to be indicted, following Jim’s report which led to the recapturing of an accused killer. He also did an undercover investigation in the aviation sector and uncovered several mishaps in the aviation system and his reports led to Congress implementing strict testing of English language for foreign pilots. His works have helped correct many wrongdoings in the states and have brought positive changes in the law and security at both state and federal levels.

The investigative journalist has an estimated net worth of $2million which he gathered from his twenty-plus years of experience in journalism. His annual earnings are not yet disclosed but it is believed that he is being handsomely paid for his job. Hoffer has also won several awards for a job well done. Among his multiple awards include the national Edward R. Murrow Award. He has also won the Emmy Awards, the Columbia University’s prestigious DuPont Award, and Peabody Award.

Jim Hoffer is currently single ever since his divorce from Mika Brzezinski in 2016. The two journalists were married for 23 years, between 1993 and 2016. They met when they were both working at WTIC-TV and got married on October 23, 1993, in Rhode Island. They got separated in 2013 and finalized their divorce three years later.

Mika Brzezinski was born on May 2, 1967, in New York City, New York, the United States to Emilie Benešová and Zbigniew Brzezinski. She is of Polish and Czech decency. Her father was a foreign policy expert and national security advisor, he served as an adviser to former United States Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and . Mika Brzezinski is an American news presenter and author, and she currently co-hosts MSNBC’S Morning Joe with her new husband Joe Scarborough.

Prior to her divorce from Jim Hoffer, there were rumors of her having extramarital affairs with her co-worker  which led to his divorce from his second wife Susan Warren in 2013. Both Brzezinski and Scarborough denied such reports back then and in the same period, Jim and Brzezinski separated. After Jim and Brzezinski divorced, both Scarborough and Brzezinski then decided to act on their feelings and in early 2017, they got engaged. And on November 24, 2018, the pair eventually got married.

Jim has two kids, both of whom he has with his ex-wife. His two daughters are Emilie Hoffer and Carlie Hoffer. Emilie was born in 1996 and she recently graduated from John Hopkins University. Carlie, on the other hand, was born in 1998 and she currently studies at Dartmouth College. The two young ladies graduated from Bronxville High School.
