Joseph Leonard Bonamassa popularly known by his fans as Joe Bonamassa was born on the 8th day of may 1977 in New Hartford, New York. Joe who is of American nationality was born to Len Bonamassa (father) and Debra Bonamassa (Mother). He was raised alongside his only sibling Lindsay Bonamassa. Joe is a renowned American blues-rock guitarist, songwriter, and singer who started playing the guitar at the tender age of four. At the early stage of his career, Joe got a lot of encouragement and support from his father who is an avid music fan and also owned and ran a guitar shop. He gives a lot of credit to his parents who fostered an appreciation of music in his life as a child.

Joe’s father Len Bonamassa exposed the budding singer to British blues-rock records by Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton which was a great inspiration to him. Joe started playing the guitar professionally when he needed to earn enough money to buy a deluxe Nintendo game. He got his tutorials at the age of 11 years from none other than the American guitar legend Danny Gatton. He had his own band named ‘Smokin’ Joe Bonamassa at the age of 12. The band made an impact around western New York and Pennsylvania and other cities like Buffalo and Scranton.

In order not to let his education suffer, Joe and his band only got to perform during the weekends since school activities take up the weekdays. Eventually, the young guitarist met B.B King the blues legend at the age of 12 after his mother received a call from Richard Thornton, a promoter who operated locally, asking if Joe can perform as the opening act in a concert featuring King as the headliner. On his own part, the blues legend B.B King was impressed by Joe’s performance and consequently invited him to tour over the summer with his own band.

Joe opened close to 20 shows for B.B King by 1989 and before the age of 18, he was involved in a band named Bloodline along with the sons of Berry Oakley, Miles Davis, and Robby Krieger. The band directed a lot of attention to the Bonamassa guitar shop even though it did not become popular as expected.

A New Day Yesterday was Joe’s debut studio album which was released in 2000, featuring some original tunes along with covers of some renowned artists like Jethro Tull, Warren Haynes, and Rory Gallagher. Gregg Allman made a guest appearance on the album on the tune titled If Heartaches Were Nickels and production was by Tom Dowd. This particular album made it to number nine on the Billboard Blues chart.

Since then, Joe has been waxing strong in his chosen career. Between 2002 and 2006, three of his studio album hit number 1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and five of his solo studio albums were in the top 10. Joe has experienced tremendous success with his live album Beacon Theatre–Live from New York which was released in 2012. The guitarist’s live acoustic album – An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House which came into being on March 26, 2013, was equally successful. The shows he accomplished the same year include his spring 2013 tour at the famous Beacon Theatre located in New York City and the four shows which he performed in London where he featured three different bands. And finally, on the 6th of December 2013, Joe along with Beth Hart got a Grammy Award nomination for their 2013 album titled Seesaw in the Best Blues Album category. Other solo albums by Joe include Different Shades of Blue and So, It’s Like That and a myriad of others.

There seems to be no chance of a reconciliation since Sandi is now married to Matt and is expecting their first baby. Joe, on the other hand, is still visibly single and there is no sign of any new girlfriend to replace Sandi.
