English actor Joe Dempsie rose to popularity after playing the role of Gendry in the drama series, Game of Thrones (GOT). He is also known for his remarkable role in the comedy-drama series, Skins. The actor was born Joseph Maxwell Dempsie on Dec 30, 1987, in Liverpool, Merseyside England to his parents Gretta and Jim. When he was four months old, his family moved to West Bridgford, Nottingham, where he spent most of his childhood. He completed his basic education at The West Bridgford School situated in Nottingham.

Dempsie developed an interest in arts at a very young age and when he was thirteen, he joined The Central Junior Television Workshop.
