Come April 2015, precisely on the 28, Jon Jones was stripped of his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship title, delisted from the official ranking and suspended from the sports indefinitely in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico which had him leave an injured pregnant woman in one of the two cars involved in the accident. The witness was an off-duty cop who clearly identified the UFC fighter, documents found in the rented car also clearly had his name on them. Inside the car also was a wrap of marijuana. The once feared fighter was charged with a felony for injuring and abandoning the injured person on purpose. Around that time, he gave an for the events of that night and all that played out in his head; mainly fear of being charged by the police for driving drunk.
