Jonathan Jackson is an actor, author and musician whose major exposure to fame came when he was cast as Lucky Spencer in the ABC television soap opera, General Hospital. He also played the role of “Jesse Tuck” in the romantic fantasy film, Tuck Everlasting. Moreso, he happens to be the co-founder of the band called Enation, formed in partnership with his drummer brother, Richard Lee Jackson, who is also an actor. Jonathan Jackson was born on the 11th of May 1982 in Orlando, Florida, USA. His nationality is American but in terms of race, he has a mixture of English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, Scottish and Scots-Irish blood. He was born to mother, Jeanine Jackson and father Rick Jackson. His mother is a businesswoman while his father is a family doctor as well as a country musician.

His early years were spent in Battle Ground, Washington, where he was raised with his brother and sister. There, his parents enrolled him into the Meadow Glade Elementary School from where he later graduated at the age of 16. He was still a high school student when he began to give serious thought to acting as a career. This passion was further reinforced following a family visit to Universal Studios Hollywood in the year 1991. His parents later decided to let him try out acting for 6 months, and this led him to move to Los Angeles.

Two years after he moved to Los Angeles (1993), Jonathan Jackson’s pursuit for visibility in his career life started to pay off as he got cast to play a major role in the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. Interestingly, his role as Lucky Spencer on the show won him the Soap Opera Digest Awards twice. For the same show, he won the Hollywood Reporter’s Young Star Award for three years in a row. Jonathan then made his movie debut in the movie Camp Nowhere in 1994. Just a year later, he was called to act in the independent film True Rights. He soon wrote and directed the 2000 short film called, Crystal Clear, with his brother Richard. Impressively, the film won Best Dramatic Short Film at the Brooklyn Film Festival.

He also played the role of James Phelps in the dance musical romance film, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights which was a prequel to the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing.
