The “Puerto Rican Princess” as she is fondly called never fails to bring her Spanish flavor to whatever she does. Whether she is in the booth rhyming to a beat or in front of the big screen playing a role, Joseline Hernandez has proven that she is a force to be reckoned with.

The girl from Puerto Rico is a rapper, actress, and reality television star. Her most popular project yet was her involvement on VH1’s ultra-successful reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which grew to become one of the network’s highest-rated shows.

Joseline’s hustle has seen her gradually shake off her torrid experience growing up to become a recognized and respected face in the world of urban music and entertainment.

Joseline Hernandez’s Bio (Age)

Hernandez’s childhood was not an easy one by any stretch. She was born on November 3, 1986, and grew up in Puerto Rico’s public housing system. Her family almost always had to scrape by. In a bid to help out the family financially and to fend for herself, Joseline started strip dancing after she turned 16.

This marked the beginning of a tumultuous period in her life. In 2003, she was arrested for lewd and offensively sexual behavior. She was arrested for generally the same reasons again in 2007. On both occasions, she was logged under a false name Shenellica Bettencourt. In a bid to make something of herself other than stripping, Joseline tried her hands at a television pilot for Showtime network. The project, which was essentially about a group of strippers in Miami, saw her go under her fake name again. Sadly, the film did not fly.

Luck seemed to shine on her when she caught the eye of veteran producer Stevie J when he visited the Onyx Club in Atlanta. They developed a working relationship as Stevie began to work to make an artist out of her. It was during this period that she was brought on along with the producer as part of the original cast of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. In the show, she was cast as the new artist the producer had signed.

Soon suspicions arose about the status of Joseline and Stevie J’s relationship. The news that they were more than just friends did not sit well with Stevie J’s girlfriend . It did not take love before the relationship between the three of them became the leading story of the series. It became the highest rated and most viewed Love & Hip Hop series, racking up 3.5 million views on average per episode.

Of course, the success of the show saw her fame shoot through the roof. She began to attend A-list events such as the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards and the 2015 BET Awards. She has also been on popular talk shows like The Show, K. Michelle: My Life and This is Hot 97 among others. Since then, Joseline Hernandez has also been on music videos for A-listers like , , , and The Game.

Joseline has also released singles and videos over the years since her earlier years with the Love & Hip Hop franchise. Some of her songs include Church, Stingy with My Kutty Katt, Slay, Gold, Mi Cualto, and Spanish Rockstar. On November 15, 2017, she released a diss track to fellow female rapper  titled Hate Me Now.

In 2016, Joseling Hernandez and Stevie J starred in a spin-off series Stevie J & Joseline: Go Hollywood. It premiered on VH1 on January 25, 2016, garnering 2.6 million views in the process.

In 2016, and 2017, the reality television star turned proper actress when she appeared in four episodes of Star portraying a stripper named Michelle. Joseline has also added television presenter to her portfolio. For about ten days in January and May of 2017, she co-hosted the talk show The Real.

Fans of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta were left stunned when Joseline abruptly announced she was walking away from the show. The reason for this was believed to be her growing frustrations with the producers and Mona Scott-Young, the creator of the show. She even went further and released a diss track targeted at Mona Scott titled Run Me My Money.

In early 2018, it was announced that Joseline was working on her own reality television series Joseline Takes Miami, along with producer Carlos King. She signed a deal with WEtv to televise the series.

Family – Parents, Brother, and Daughter

The rapper’s childhood may be what made her the strong, independent woman she is but that doesn’t mean that she looks back on it with a smile on her face. Growing up in Puerto Rico’s low cadre environment, young Joseline had to watch on as her father lived the junkie lifestyle, eventually dying of a heroin overdose. When she was six her mother and stepfather relocated to Florida along with her and her siblings.

She comes from a rather large family. Joseline has an older sister Yanira, and four brothers, the youngest of which is autistic and needs special attention and care. Her brothers are Jorge, Hisael, Kermit, and Luis Jr.

Hernandez who is of bisexual orientation became a mother on December 28, 2016, when she gave birth to her and Stevie’s first child together, a daughter named Bonnie Bella Jordan. On May 1, 2017, a television special was released on VH1 that documented her delivery.

Stevie and Joseline were never legally married and soon broke up ahead of the fifth season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Since then, they have been on and off a number of times.
