Her mother who works in a hospital and as an administrator was formerly a nun who was sent out of the convent after 8 years for wild behavior. Her dad is a mechanical engineer.

She grew up in Redford Township and Livonia and was raised a Roman Catholic. Greer is an alumnus of Churchill High School, Livonia, and of DePaul University where she bagged a degree in Fine Arts in 1997.

Due to several other actresses named Judy or Judi Evans, Greer adopted her mother’s maiden name for her stage name.

She began her acting career in 1998 and her first movie appearance was in a horror film titled Stricken, where she portrayed a college student who played a very fatal prank.

In that same year, she landed a minor role in Doug Ellin’s romantic comedy, Kissing a Fool. This was followed by her first major role in 1999, where she played Fern Mayo (Vylette) – an introverted teenager who exposed her classmates’ murder of their friend, in Jawbreaker. The movie earned a cult following.

In 2000, she played Erin in What Women Want, the following year, she played alongside in The Wedding Planner. The next year, she was cast in an Untitled Ken Finkleman Project which is based on a Canadian show The Newsroom.
